Parody Song Title:

"House of the Rising Son"

Parody Written by:

Bubba

The Lyrics

There is a house in Washington
Where lives the Rising Son
And it's been the home of many Republicans
And God I know I'm one

His mother's name was Barbara
She raised him well, it seems
His father was the President
Back in the eighties

Now the President can't hardly lead
When both his hands are tied
But the people spoke, and now he has
The Congress on his side

------ organ solo ------

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what Clinton done
Sell off nights to sleep in history
In the House of the Rising Son

Well, he's now all set to govern
His party has the floor
He's gonna be elected again
In two thousand and four

There is a house in Washington
Where lives the Rising Son
And it's been the home of many Republicans
And God I know I'm one

This is excellent, Bubba.

This is hilarious. I've got the original song playing now, and I can easily re-dub it in my mind...the pacing and everything is dead-on.

It's the best. Give us smo'.

Renting the Lincoln Bedroom is a White House tradition that goes at least as far back as Richard Nixon, and if Georgie had been raised well, he wouldn't be a convicted drunk driver, let alone an unconvicted election thief. As for judging your song on merit, rather than on political bias, it reminds me of Data's poetry from "Star Trek": Strong on meter, weak on imagination. But then, imagining Georgie re-elected -- I mean, elected -- is going to take more imagination than you think.

Michael, I don't go post comments on your parodies questioning your political views, or your parody-writing talent. If you don't like the song...too bad. It has 25 votes (so far), which beats the hell out of anything you've ever done...

Nice Parody Bubba. As for Michaels comment's, the main difference I see between Bush's bad behavior and Clinton's is that one is belligerantly arrogant and the other apologetically humble.

And we all know how Bush supporters feel about counting votes. And who's stopping you from questioning my views or my talent? I'm a liberal. Unlike a Bush or one of their flunkies, I can take it just as well as dish it out. Bring it on.

Well, see, Michael, that's where you and I differ. I do not agree with your political stance, or a lot of your opinions...however, I have read some of your song parodies, and they are fairly clever. I can disagree with you, and still not criticize you for lack of talent. However, you posted a comment about my parody being "strong on meter, weak on imagination..." and then tie that to another political belief. I'm sorry my opinions don't sync with yours (well, on second thought, no, I'm really not), but from the looks of the other comments, and the voting results (4.5, 4.4, 4.4 to date), you are of the minority opinion.

Give it to Mikey - He hates everything. (That's Life and then there's Mikey). Excellent parody. Sorry I am so late gettin' here but I didn't start posting out here until 5/26/03 and this was a ways before that. Still the parody is timeless and still has currency and does spark with a lot of imagination. You need to write some more stuff - you do great parody. Just a side note - George Bush did not try to throw out the military absentee ballots as Algore did. This was justice. The military put him over and Mikey and all those other whiners know it. The military's voice was heard loud and clear for the rights they gave up and were allowed to pursue the one right that lets them decide who they will allow to order them into harms way and possible death. This was real justice considering that the previous administration used, abused and hated the military.
