Song Parodies -> "A Bar Maid Fight"

Original Song Title:

"A Hard Days Night"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"A Bar Maid Fight"

Parody Written by:

Jeff Reubem

The Lyrics

It was a bar maid fight, and I was drooling like a dog
It was a bar maid fight, I watched them rolling, in the grog
I know I shouldn't have stared, while they pulled each other's hair
But I could gawk all night

Joanne worked hard all day, she took my money and served me drinks
It began when she heard Cindy say, "Your face is ugly, and you stink
You always bitch and you moan, and you steal tips from my zone
And now I'll make you pay"

Poor Joanne, caught in a headlock so tight
At the bar, all the drunks screamed with delight,
FIGHT! YEAH!

It was a bar maid fight, they came out swinging with their mops
It was a bar maid fight, they lost their aprons, and their tops
I'm such a pig when I leer, but when they're covered in beer
It makes the world seem right

Wow!

They wrestled on the dance floor, I stood up cheering for more
Until I heard them say,
"Well you know, somehow it doesn't seem right
That this jerk's, gaining pleasure from our plight!"
YIKES! HELP!

I'm in a bar maid fight, they grabbed me, threw me, from my stool
I'm in a bar maid fight, and then they kicked me, in the jewels
They laughed with joy when I squealed, "Curse you and your pointy
heels"
I guess I'm not too bright
I didn't think they'd bite
But still they're out of sight!

mr. reuben, this misspelt name is a very shrewd tactical, cause you make an excuse to submit again and earn more publicities! You wanker! but a song with beautyfull girls soaking in beers and groping each others is very happy!

Nice parody. But if you want this one to be listed under your parody author name, you'd probably have to resubmit it with your correct name.

I agree with Peter Amderssom aka k1chyd. You kmow, this "chamged letter" game remimds me of something dome a few times om "Whose Lime Is It Amyway"...ome time they chamged "p" to "g"...for example, ome of the things Colim Mochrie said was "soda gog." :D

Nichael, great minds think alike. In my original draft, I had Diane and Carla, not Joanne and Cindy. Didn't want it to be based on Cheers though, so I made the switch. I do reserve the right to use "Arwen" and "Ashley" if I perform it though =)

Hot-looking, beer-drenched, scantily-clad women grappling at each other is okay with me...

They are hot-looking, beer-drenched and scantily-clad, right, Reubem...?

Peter Andersson - July 10, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I've already commented on this one once before, but there cannot be enough bar maid fights so this goes into the shortlist on top of my shortlist with more than half of the submissions checked out by now. Also, some of the lines has such great pacing that when I loudly sung along I couldn't hear a single syllable from the original over my voice (though of course the neighbours' stupid hammering on the wall didn't help either).
Dee Range - July 10, 2005 - Report this comment
Very good, Jeff. Reminds me of Raquel Welch on Seinfeld, when she and Elaine had a 'catfight'. SOTM

"Beertiful!" --Claude Prez

Great all the way through, but the "mops" verse launched it into classic territory. Love it love it love it. (Beatles, bar maids, beer, boobs. What's not to love?)

Very good parody. The "drooling like a dog" metaphor is more creative and accurate than "working like a dog" in TOS.

Still love it. "When they're covered in beer it makes the world seem right." Indeed.
