Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Charles Manson is undoubtedly a criminal and insane, but nowadays, in California, with the right lawyer alongside to cause helter-skelter and slay the intent of the law, those might be the prerequisites to get away with murder, and possibly even to get a shot at a second career. Maybe Charles and the Family were just ahead of their time, and maybe if they had gotten off scot-free they could have become a parody band. *Shudders*
Since August 10th of 69
Charlie Manson and the band's done fine
They'd been tuning in and out on drugs
And I guarantee they're gangsta thugs
And maybe they'll abuse on you
These wackos known for all these years
Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band

(Curtains Up)

We're Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band
We hope you will survive the show
Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band
Kick back and let the plasma flow
Charlie Manson's Loony
Charlie Manson's Loony
Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band

Through legal bull we're still here
It's curtains down and kill
You're such a bleeding audience
We'd like to take you home with us
We'd love to take parts home

(Curtains Close)

I don't really wanna help these dopes
But I'm willing to supply some ropes
So the singer could get in the swing
And I want you all to help me sling
So help me finish off for good
This lost and crazy son of God
And Charlie Manson's Loony Tunes Thug Band
© Peter Andersson. (Charles Manson have claimed that he is Jesus, hence the reference to "son of God", which is also a tie in joke with John Lennon's alleged 1966 statement that The Beatles was "bigger than Jesus").

Well, Charlie and gang weren't real good clients...the only reason he didn't go to the Gas Chamber is that the Cap. Punishment laws that were in place at the time were thrown out by the Supreme Court, thus commuting all those under Death Sentence at the time to the Max allowed under the laws of the State they were in...hence, life for CM...still, I think keeping him alive as "Exhibit A" of a crazed lunatic was unintentionally instructional and maybe not that bad a thing...I know others may disagree...more instructive are the pathetic lives of those who followed him and sort of come to their senses now...still in prison...and not real likely of any release any time soon...5's

A&E aired its Biography of Manson today, including an interview with the devil himself. I always wondered why he got like that. Broken home, mother a hooker, aunt and uncle who raised him were Appalachian religious nuts, never figured out how to not get caught in his petty crimes and kept going back to jail. I'd say he never had a chance, but that might sound like I'm sympathizing with this sociopath. Had he simply been kept in jail past the Sixties and Watergate, with all its mores allowing a Manson Family to happen, chances are he'd now be just another old guy in a psych ward, Sharon Tate would be a sitcom grandma married to her fourth husband, and Roman Polanski could make a few great but mostly boring films right here in America. And Brian Warner would have to call himself Marilyn Wayne Gacy or Marilyn Berkowitz. (Jones, as in Rev. Jim, being too common a name.)

Strange, weird and all that. You had good timing in the storyline.

For those with the stomach and interest in the crime and the people involved in it there is a fascinating book out there called "The Family" by Ed Sanders (he also used to be in the group "The Fugs" back in the 60's)...he originally was of the "counter-culture" side and his original thought when he started investigating this case was that the Government HAD to be making this junk up and CM might be a scapegoat...WRONG...he got into it VERY thoroughly and very deeply. The detail he uncovered and then tied together is amazing...he left a lot of "loose end" parts in the book because many of those were "unsolved" murders or other serious crimes...he had some hope their mention might eventually bring forth information to help solve them...It's an engrossing book...some of the language & vernacular in it is a little dated - he has published later revisions and explained he did not change the original wording because he wanted to pass on some of the 'flavor' of that era, and I agree with his choice there...anyway, it's scary and awful, but also VERY informative - since I lived out here in the L.A. area(I was 19 when the arrests came down) it had always occurred to me that I MIGHT have actually run into some of these people during that period...an idea that positively chills the spine, I can assure you...so it was a "Must" read for me....anyway, that's my little footnote to this piece...
