Song Parodies -> "A Bar Maid Fight"

Original Song Title:

"A Hard Days Night"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"A Bar Maid Fight"

Parody Written by:

Jeff Reuben

The Lyrics

Resubmitting, to fix the spelling of my name
It was a bar maid fight, and I was drooling like a dog
It was a bar maid fight, I watched them rolling, in the grog
I know I shouldn't have stared, while they pulled each other's hair
But I could gawk all night

Joanne worked hard all day, she took my money and served me drinks
It began when she heard Cindy say, "Your face is ugly, and you stink
You always bitch and you moan, and you steal tips from my zone
And now I'll make you pay"

Poor Joanne, caught in a headlock so tight
At the bar, all the drunks screamed with delight,
FIGHT! YEAH!

It was a bar maid fight, they came out swinging with their mops
It was a bar maid fight, they lost their aprons, and their tops
I'm such a pig when I leer, but when they're covered in beer
It makes the world seem right

Wow!

They wrestled on the dance floor, I stood up cheering for more
Until I heard them say,
"Well you know, somehow it doesn't seem right
That this jerk's, gaining pleasure from our plight!"
YIKES! HELP!

I'm in a bar maid fight, they grabbed me, threw me, from my stool
I'm in a bar maid fight, and then they kicked me, in the jewels
They laughed with joy when I squealed, "Curse you and your pointy
heels"
I guess I'm not too bright
I didn't think they'd bite
But still they're out of sight!

This is damn funny but, unfortunately, a really good writer named Jeff Reubem already did it! If I were you, mister, I'd stop stealing his stuff and come up with some of your own. :-) 555 (Again)

Artistry- 34. BAD - This gives a whole new meaning to beerded ladies. Must have been as good as a side show. I like this. I may have to vote for this one in the comps since you have put out a comp in one of my favorite decades that I seem to be hopelessly lost in both the 60s and 70s. This is a nice little gem.

Artistry- 34. Whoops - I'm really bad with the names today. This is the 2nd time I've misnamed a comment today. Sorry about mixing you up with BAD, there Jeff. Not that this would be such a BAD thing.

Sir Jeffry, you should've had that apron on, that would have charmed those two lasses, into making passes . . .

Truely a Jeff Reuben classic.... I think that you're more recent recordings have been better than this one, but the lyrics and the humor on this one deserves the Song of the Month Gold that it got back in 05.

Talk about a catfight

(Artistry) Whoah! Old-skool parody! That being said, this was pretty good. I liked the 'when they're covered in beer/It makes the world seem right' line. 555 beers for you.

(Artistry) How did I miss commenting this one? Completely hummable parody, with a great storyline.
Red Ant - September 16, 2008 - Report this comment
A pleasure to revisit this one, Jeff. "but when they're covered in beer It makes the world seem right" - I'll drink to that.

(Artistry) Beer and topless bar maids -- two topics that never go out of style.

(Artistry) A Classic among classic Jeff. . .Not the first I've heard/read this one of course

My wife asks me all the time "Why do guys like watching girls fight?" And I replied "We don t care what they're doing, as long as they're touching each other..." THat said...EXCELLENT parody, because who amongst us doesn't love a good cat fight?!
Invisible Boy - September 18, 2008 - Report this comment
Excellent imagery here Jeff. I kinda wish I was there...to break it up of course. 555 spilled cans of Bud for you.
Wolverine - September 18, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) Syncronos, so true! :-) But I'm jealous of Jeff. The only bar fights I've ever seen seem to involve ugly sweaty drunk men.
