Original Song Title:

"Eleanor Rigby"

Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Harriet Miers"

Parody Written by:

Bob Gomez

The Lyrics

Dedicated to ChuckyG and the First Amendment.
Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?
Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?

Harriet Miers
Picks up the Washington Post and knows she's out of luck;
Says, "Holy f#@k!"

Calls up Dick Cheney
Who's in a meeting with Libby and Rove and his boss;
Everyone's cross!

Bush administration:
Where do they get these bums?
Self-sodomization,
They're sitting on their thumbs!

I. "Scooter" Libby
Fingers Dick Cheney, his source for the leak to the Times;
Pays for his crimes;

Patrick Fitzgerald,
Doing his duty, reflects on the weight of a name:
"Valerie Plame"--

Bush administration:
Where do they get these bums?
Self-sodomization,
They're sitting on their thumbs!

Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?
Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?

Harriet Miers
Lives in obscurity, everyone knows her as Blanche
On Crawford Ranch;

Plays with her gavel,
Writes friendly notes to the Bushes and knocks back a gin
Like she's a twin

Bush administration:
Where do they get these bums?
Self-sodomization,
They're sitting on their thumbs!

Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?
Wow, but aren't all Bush cronies evil?

Okay, Bob, your parody is now the official lyric. There are some great lines - I would never have made the "self-sodomization / sitting on thumb" connection myself, but it's perfect here.

Turns out the "evil-doers" are in the House--the White one, that is, though there's plenty of evil in the congressional one as well. 5s

Not all Bush cronies are evil. Some are too stupid to even recognize evil. And some are kept so far out of the loop that they don't realize they're working for evil. Condi Rice comes to mind, but, hey, she's only the Secretary of State!

Thank you Rayvn, John, alvin, Mason and Michael. Let's hope I have no reason to write anything about Bush's next nominee. I'm thinking William Cohen would be a great choice.

Bob, slight problem with pacing, there is no repeat of the first bit at the end of the song.
Bob Gomez - October 30, 2005 - Report this comment
Yeah, the last two bits should be simultaneous, not separate, I guess.

555. Could almost mistake this for The Capitol Steps!
