Song Parodies -> "Eight Days Near C"

Original Song Title:

"Eight Days A Week"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Eight Days Near C"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

" c " is the scientific name for the speed of light.
Oooh my speed's done something
Guess Einstein was right

He said we'd see fun things
Near the speed of light

Bold me
Loves speed
Bold me
Loves speed

I went flyin' like lightning

Eight days near c!

Einstein said a day would
Seem like normal time

If your speed in space could
Rush toward c and climb

Bold me
Loves speed
Bold me
Loves speed

In my rocket I'm flying

Eight days near c!

Eight
Days
Near c

My clo-o-ock is slow-ing

Eight
Days
Near c

But down on Earth time's flowing there!

My twin brother stayed there
On Earth Standard Time

Eight days, I've no gray hair --- my twin's ninety-nine!

Old he
Young me
Old he
Young me

Relativity made us ---

Great famous freaks!

Einstein antiques!

Unique and chic!

We're paid to speak ---

--- eight days a week!

If the D stands for "Diesel," then he may be in line for some... Elfin Magic! (For those new to the site, that's an inside joke between me and Arwen.)

Very clever concept and conclusion, and I liked the way you fit in "great famous freaks."

There once was a lady named Bright
Who’s speed was much faster than light
She departed one day

I have to think by this that you've read "Time For the Stars" by Robert A. Heinlein. My favorite author.

Rick D --- I've read "Time Enough For Love" by Robert A. Heinlein. He's one of my favorite sci-fi authors, too. His "Future History" collection of short stories is great.

After all these years I mix up the titles. You can see his influence in "Trek" and in movies like "The Last Starfighter"
