The Lyrics

DKTOS? Then I can't help you, heh heh. This thread is what gave me the idea for the parody (thank you Stuart - we are still on a first name basis, right? ;-)).
Emphasis
One might wonder the signif-icance...
It is how all of your words are stressed
And that you see - is emphasis...

Syllable
Count's not always that reliable...
It's a matter undefin-able
(these rhymes not great - that's proveable!)

What - we - write is hard and it's art
(well no, not this!)
I - saw - something off - and I thought
'twas emphasis...

Emphasis
Used to think that it did not... exist...
Now it irks me when a line's amiss*
It's hard to sing - wrong em-PHA-sis

Well - we - pair-uh-dee** diff'rently
And that is bliss
That - said - not all minds - work alike
With emphasi-i-i-is,

Emphasis
On this topic we could rem-inisce...
Format, couplets, pace? Enough of this!
Just make me laugh - for that's true bliss

mmm mmm mmm mmm ...
*I wanted to put "Now it irks me when MY lines are amiss" but that darned syllable-counter in me wouldn't allow it. **Parody

Well, seems you got all the syl-LAB-les in there too as well. Perhaps both are needed? 5's

DKTOS??? Only the most-frequently played record ever, by most counts. Even Turtles in shells or caves KTO!
"Amiss" line is perfect as is. Three - count 'em carefully - three - Fives.

There was a young man from Japan
Whose limericks never would scan
When asked just why so
He replied, "I don't know -
"Maybe it's because I always try to cram as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can"
(old, not original)

Is this trying to put the "bull" into "syllabull count"?

Empathise
With a chap who tries to emphasise
But can't get the syllable count right no matter how hard he tries
But arguing is most unwise... ;-)

there's nothing scary about a friendly exchange of differing views, Phil

You can always count, if not syllables, on me to catch up what I missed yesterday. :-)
