Parody Song Title:

"Idiot Drivers"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers. – Dave Barry
Ah, look at all the muddled drivers
Ah, they are such befuddled drivers

Eleanor Rigby, driving for miles down the road with her turn signal on
Her mind is gone
Waiting at green lights, looking in every direction except straight ahead
Must be inbred

All the lazy drivers, where do they all come from?
All the crazy drivers, what makes them drive so dumb?

Father McKenzie, out on the highway and going about ninety-five*
Will he survive?
Look at him swerving, trying to stay in his lane as he talks on the phone
He's not alone

All the bone head drivers, where do they all come from?
All the brain dead drivers, what makes their brains so numb?

Ah, look at all the loony drivers
Ah, they are such buffoon-y drivers

Eleanor Rigby, hurt in a crash when she pulled out in front of a truck
End of her luck
Father McKenzie, hospitalized 'cause the truck that hit Rigby was his
That's how it is

All the drowsy drivers, where do they all come from?
All the lousy drivers, are they all drinking rum?

You'll be arrested for trafficking in parodies, but Fives, and that's no accident! Good one, Rex, and glad I have a shell!

the thought of these two beatle characters having an auto accident just cracks me up...well done

(SOTM) I thought this was gonna be a Paperback Writer parody! Wow... a hilarious last-minute parody! You used a lot of imagery in your lyrics to describe their comedically horrible driving. You're not getting a ticket from me, Rex. Keep up the good work. 555

(SOTM) High speed hilarity. George Carlin: "Didja ever notice that anyone who drives slower than you is an idiot...and anyone who drives faster than you is a MANIAC?!" 555

(SOTM) Could have varied the names, but another great car parody in this contest...is it just me, or are we all becoming motorheads here? Ah well, I'm happy with only my capital-C Cars parodies.

(SOTM) There are some real morons on the road. I hope this spoof wasn't based on something you witnessed.

I happen to fit this description... So.... I have to sigh, face the truth and hand you fives....

(SOTM) I'm not old enough to drive, but when I do, I hope I won't fit this description. Love the way you worked in the original names from the song (Eleanor and McKenzie). Briliant, Rex.

(SOTM) Great job, Rex. I too, liked the way you merged the original characters into this. 555

SOTM-Great message too.

(SOTM) I don't know where they all come from, but eventually they all go to Virginia. Having two of 'em take each other out was great; reminds me of the "Intersecting Darwins" story. Unlike these drivers, your pace was perfect.

(SOTM) Brilliant twisting of the OS back upon itself for great comic effect.
Phil Alexander - May 29, 2006 - Report this comment
The difference between me and the rest, though, is I *am* a better-than-average driver ;-) But I think it's dreadful that 50% of drivers are worse than average...

(SOTM) nice twist having Father McKenzie hit Eleanor Rigby - sort of like the post-Darwin awards for those no longer able to add to the gene pool - good parody, Rex

(SOTM) Nice parody

SOTM...ah...I think that all of us...you know, the sane drivers of the world, can smile while we're reading this one, Rex! Great subject, and perfectly paced!

(SOTM) I gotta hand it to ya (without the middle finger raised) that this is a pretty good car song. I'm somewhat relieved to know that I'm not the only motorhead around here. Very well paced (the character names could have been changed, but here they work out all right. Besides...the OS leaves no explanation for how Eleanor Rigby died. Come on, why else would Father McKenzie be so bummed about it? This goes to my short list faster than you can say "vehicular manslaughter".)
