The Lyrics

My contribution to the "White Trash" album, based on a misheard lyric in TOS. I thought "snow peaked mountain" was "Smoky Mountains". To be played by a bipartisan band including Lamar Alexander on piano and Tipper Gore on drums.
Fishin' near the dam built by the TVA
Caught the food we ate last night
Hoping that ole ranger man will stay away
Chop some wood by early light
We're down here in ole Tennessee
We think it's the best place to be, y'all
Down here in ole Tennessee, yeah

We will not let city folks mess up this place
These ole woods I call my home
Turn on the TV to watch the NASCAR race
Honey just forget the phone
We're down here in ole Tennessee
We think it's the best place to be, y'all
Down in the valley
Down in the valley
Down here in ole Tennessee

Well the mountain music is what I love
It leaves the rest behind
The Nashville sound is a cut above
Ole Rocky Top is always on my my my my my my my mind
Y'all, come on

(fiddle solo)

We're down here in ole Tennessee
We think it's the best place to be, y'all
Down here in ole Tennessee, yeah

Well the mountain music is what I love
It leaves the rest behind
The Nashville sound is a cut above
Ole Rocky Top is always on my my my my my my my mind

Oh, show me round your Smoky Mountains way down south
Corn is growing on my farm
Let me hear your banjos when they're ringing out
Come and drink your moonshine warm
We're down here in ole Tennessee
We think it's the best place to be, y'all
Down here in ole Tennessee, yeah

Oh, see y'all city slickers

That was great, and a great way to open Matthias' White Trash Album! I could just picture the banjos and steel guitar picking! 555

You, SK, are right on target. The "banjo" line especially good.
