The Lyrics

Dunno The Original Tune: Here Y'all Go
[ACT TWO]
[SCENE TEN]

{Setting: Mother Nature's Ass Federal Prison}

(A couple of cops thrust Chet in front of Sheriff Bob)

SHERIFF BOB
"Howdy Chet. Who did you do this time."

CHET
"Don't you mean what?"

SHERIFF BOB
"No"

CHET
"Nobody, I burned down my bosses moonshine shack"

SHERIFF BOB
"Gull dern it! That's the best place to get it! Lock Him Up Boys!"

(The same cops grab Chet again and drag him off)
(Chet yells profanities)
(Chet is thrusted into a jail cell)

(Chet collapses onto a mattress)
(A "man in black" hops down off the top cot)
(Chet looks up)

CHET
"Hey Aren't you."

JOHNNY
"Yup, I'm Johnny Cash"

CHET
"I was going to say Ben Affleck, but that works too."

JOHNNY
"What are you in for?"

CHET
"I burned down my bosses moonshine shack. Ever been to Slowpoke's?"

JOHNNY
"I've Been Everywhere, man. And in my journeys I have found out that you can't let the Cocaine Blues take control of you. You need to can't just Walk The Line, you need to go over the line and step into the Ring Of Fire."

CHET
"That actually makes a lot of sense. So, what are you in for?"

(Johnny leans back against his cot and looks out the barred window)

"Yer (Folsom Prison) Blues"
By Matthias

MATTHIAS
I'm in prison, shot a guy
I'm in prison, shot a guy
I hear that whistle blowing
Oooh, now I hang my head and cry

Hear train coming, wanna ride
Here I'm sitting, no sunshine
I hung my head already
Oooh, now I sit right here and cry

My mother had told me son
Don't play with guns, tough guy
But in Reno he is in a hearse
Shoot, just to watch him cry

Prison, here I'll die
Heard whistle already
Oooh, now I sit right here and cry

I bet the rich do dine
In a dining car of gold
Smoking big cigars now
And they sip cappuccinos

Prisoned, with you guy
Hung me head already
Oooh, now I sit right here and cry

If prison I resigned
Railroad train I stole
Move down just a little
From this Folsom d*mn black hole
I'm moving down the line
That'd be where I'm staying
"Toot!" whistle bid my blues goodbye
