Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"Food: A Hymn"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Hey food, it ain't so bad
Helps you get strong and fight germs better
Remember, don't eat too much for your heart
Or you will start to get much fatter

Hey food, it has been made
Fish filet, soup, tacos, hamburger
Persimmons, fritata, summer squash, hash
Tofu, ice cream, crabcakes and butter

And anytime we feel hungry, hey food, we flee
Explore the world for who will feed us
From the time that we first drool, and through our school
And all the way until death does take us.

Hey food, your colors brown
Orange, green, black and other colors
Remember to visit the supermart
So you can stop the curse of hunger

Pork, sauerkraut and lettuce thin-- Hey food! You're in!
We chew it all up, and then we swallow it
And don't you know that it was food, yes food, we shoot--
The movement we made into the toilet?

Hey food, donuts and bread
Bacon, fried prawns and cookie batter
Fried liver, polenta, potato skins
Wash it all in, with lots of water
Water! Water! Water! Water! Water! Water! Water! YEAHHHHHHH!!!!

Yum, yum, yum, yummy yum yum!...
Yummy yum yum!...
Hey food!

Yum, yum, yum, yummy yum yum!...
Yummy yum yum!...
Hey food!

Yum, yum, yum, yummy yum yum!...
Yummy yum yum!...
Hey food!

(repeat 13 more times, ad lib as desired, and take a Tums)

LOL! I had been workin' on a parody on Hey Jude for a while entitled Hey Food... Although for some reason it was about a buffet, and I was talking to all the food-stuffs there.... Not nearly as good as yours, 5-5-5

Thanks Matthias, Alvin, Yoidy, Rex, Adagio, Jake, Jack, Ann and Charnstar!
I had some misgivings about doing this when I saw that there were two other "Hey Food" submissions already, but I went with my heart (and my stomach!) to finish it.

Jack Wilson stole my comment: "Let it in"/Lettuce thin" was a moment of genius. 555

You're making me hungry, and food is usually the color black when I cook it.

(ABC) Argh! Why'd I have to read this RIGHT before dinner?! But this was great. Novel ending, and even the Poomaster-like touch fit. =P

This song has the unfortunate luck of having to compete with Cookie Monster's parody of the same song. While not quite up to Cooke Monster's version, it still had some good lines, and I enjoyed it.

Very fun Agri, and not typical from you at all.

Artistry-34 - thanks a lot Ag. Carmine (2-LOUD) Boccotesta was reading this over my shoulder and it is 1:00AM and now he wants me to make him some polenta. I'll be up most of the night. You just had to use polenta in this didn't you? I guess I'm going to have to find a nice dago red down in the wine cellar for him as well.

Actually this is quite well how you made all that food pace together. Well done.

This is pretty much the Epic of all food parodies. I love the way you created a grocery list out of the most Epic Beatles song that they have. Brilliant stuff, the title has been done many times before, I'm sure, but this one takes the cake (Pun intended)

Chef Agri, that was delicious. You wouldn't happen to have any more would ya?
Jeff Reuben - September 15, 2008 - Report this comment
This was good! One of the issues for me is that there's a cookie monster version of Hey Food that I can never get out of my mind when I hear this song. This is well written and gets some chuckles :) But you're going up against one of my idols, Cookie Monster himself :)

This song was delicious. Being a Werejohncandy, my favourite things including eating and relaxing. Agri. You certainly know how to make a tasty parody. Here's a book of 5555 Unique Recipies For Really Interesting Food Dishes. I had a pie for you somewhere, but I accidentally ate it- me being a werejohncandy and all.

This song is delicious. It also happens to be kind of apprioate because i'm playing the Simpsons game and i'm the "Around the world in 80 bites" level.

Agri. This song was tasty. We want you to do a section in our newspaper the Oakendale Chatbox. It's a humourous satire newspaper with bizzare but entertaining news stories, amusing comic strips, great jokes and puzzles, and other humourous items including Top ten lists, quirky limmericks, and a section called Wild N Wacky Recipes which is where people make up wacky recipes for different kinds of dishes and have them published. We think you would be the perfect guy to submit some of the recipes- this month's theme is called Oddball desserts and other dishes. All you've got to do is think of a really kooky recipe for a wacky dessert, give it a really crazy name, write it down on paper, then send it in. Within a few days your wacky recipe will be published in our newspaper. And if you're really lucky- it called win the award for Funniest Recipe, or even Recipe Of The Month.

(Artistry) Hard to believe this one is so old, I remember reading it before, I had to look over it again. Subtle, and effective.
