The Lyrics

things gettin' old, here...losin' our flair
women scream and how
how we s'posed to sing when all these girlies whine ?
fame is fleetin'...hot at the time
if we duck out from...concerts to be
would we be ignored ?
we ain't that needy...we ain't that greedy
we're just...sick of...tours

we...feel...roped...in...too
and...we've toured all the world...nothing...left...to...do

when you are hemmed in...folks blow a fuse
till the fun is gone
tried to knit our friendships on this wild ride
grumblin' formin'...foes by your side
doin' a concert...deafened by screams
youth that blast and roar
we ain't that needy...we ain't that greedy
we're just...sick of...tours

every summer, endless string of concerts, almost...every night
and we feel no cheer
still we jump and rave
kids yellin' as they please...as we...rock and...slave

don't take it so hard...you'll be just fine
records...we'll still...do
no need to be live like we were yesterday
buy our latest...give it a play
we won't be prancin'...in a live form
no, not anymore
we ain't that needy...we ain't that greedy
we're just...sick of...tours

That is telling it as it is. When the Beatles came to L.A. for the first time nobody could hear the music because of all the screaming.

Don't know about your touring, but your site performance is just fine.

Nice job using a Beatles song to relate their frustration and exit from concert touring. It appears we can expect more Beatles parodies as an encore, right? 5's ~ ~ ~

I remember the first time I heard Sgt. Pepper in 1967. That's the moment I forgave them for giving up touring. Nice job here nailing their state of mind at that time!

Just remember: If it wasn't for what happened at Tours, we'd be posting these parodies in Arabic! If at all! Wait... This wasn't about the Battle of Tours, a.k.a. the Battle of Poitiers, in 732? Oh, that's right, this wasn't by Phil Alexander, or Susanna Viljanen, or even myself. But maybe that'll give them an idea. Charles Martel... "If I Had a Hammer..."

It also sums up the apprehension I feel about the Genesis reunion tour (i.e, Banks, Rutherford, Collins plus Stuermer and Thompson).
