The Lyrics

Seems that Lucy Liu has a few fans here. I thought I'd take care of this one before anyone else thought of it.
(instrumental opening)

Picture yourself in a movie theater
with tough-talking women and slobbering guys.
Looking past Cameron, Drew you're ignoring.
The girl you want has dragon's eyes.

Acting so silly on "Ally McBeal."
Jokes sometimes over your head.
Think you've got chance with
Miss Lucy Alexis?
It's gone!

Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Ohhhh...

Follow her down to a film made by Quentin.
She's rocking some people so hard that each dies.
Studios smile as they look at the piles
of money, incredibly high.

Newspapers review her films, stars, there's four.
You want her to take you away.
You'd like to take her off screen and go back
but she's gone.

Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Ohhhh...

Picture yourself on the Amiright website
with song that you're writing, with dim hopes and lies.
Suddenly someone decides she likes your style:
The girl with the dragonlike eyes...

Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Ohhhh, whoa...

Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Lucy has a guy who's rhymin'!
Ohhhh, whoa...
(repeat 'til fade)
Actually, if I could have any of "Charlie's Angels," it would be Drew Barrymore. Even if she did star in that horror film, "Fever Pitch." (I'm a Yankee Fan, so, to me, that's a horror film.) Then again, Original Angel Jaclyn Smith ain't THAT old yet... And I love Uma Thurman, so I wasn't exactly upset when she won the fight in "Kill Bill." (Which, by the way, is Ann Coulter's all-time favorite movie title.) Now, if any of you have got anything else to say... NOW'S THE TIME!

Hello, Lucy Liu, you stole hearts of Lucy Liu lovers in this site's crew. . . . Anyone want to take it from there?

Alvin's comment made me think someone should parody "Hello Mary Lou (Goodbye Heart)" by the Statler Brothers...and several others going back to Ricky Nelson. But I see someone else already attempted that. Nice job Michael. DKTOS, but as I've been reading more and more songs on amiright, I'm sure you're spot on.

Uh, Wolverine, thanks, but... How can you not know "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"? (Then again, Arwen's pretty smart, and she had to be reminded that "MacArthur Park" was "the cake out in the rain song," so you're not alone.) I wasn't aware that the Statlers had done "Hello, Mary Lou" (though I did know Gene Pitney wrote it and sounds like he sings backup on Rick Nelson's original), but then, country singers do everything. I first heard "Great Balls of Fire" by Dolly Parton. I first heard "Heartache Tonight" by Alabama. I first heard "We've Got Tonight" by Kenny Rogers, in duet with Sheena Easton. I first heard "It's Now Or Never" by, believe it or not, ex-Duke Boy John Schneider. Then WKHK, Kick-106, became WLTW, Lite-FM, and that was the end of country radio in New York, and I was forced to look elsewhere, which led me to oldies, without which I'd probably have only about 40 parodies on this site. But I thought everybody knew "Lucy in the Sky." If not the Beatles' '67 orginal on "Sgt. Pepper," then at least Elton John's very different, but terrific, '74 cover with John Lennon guesting on guitar.

"Arwen's pretty smart."

I hope you meant to say "Arwen's pretty AND smart." Because "pretty smart" isn't good enough for me.
