"Penny Lane"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Benny's Gang"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

...the words of "benny and the jets" transposed into "penny lane"...
in benny's gang, the sound's electric like a phonograph
and every mind, they've had the pleasure to have blown
so stick around and see their famous show
its a dynamo

we'll kill the fatted calf tonight...we're gonna raise the bar
though folks will always call them weird behind their backs
they are wonderful and that's a fact
weather's bound to change...very strange

benny's gang...will thrill your ears...and blind your eyes
parents in the street, with you, will fight
to find who's wrong or right

in benny's gang, there is a woman with electric boots
and a suit made out of mohair can be seen
you know i read it in a magazine...she is really keen

benny's gang...will thrill your ears...and blind your eyes
plug into the faithless...and you'll sigh
made ageless by this pack

behind a solid wall of sound, the band is banging out
its well rehearsed and very popular today
you gotta hear the way these jets can play
you just have to stay

in benny's gang, you'll find survivors 'mong the customers
and they're admiring still, the suit with mohair trim
and those boots are just the living end
ron and candy say...see today

benny's gang...will thrill your ears...and blind your eyes
come and kill the fatted calf tonight
benny's gang...will thrill your ears...and blind your eyes
shake it lose together for these guys
benny's gang

Marvelous, Mr. Rhodes. I was going to do "Brady and the Jets"-- as the Spygate of the NFL, but, it seems a bit dated now. It'll be time for baseball and steroid parodies soon.
