As various left-wingers decry the "mal-distribution of wealth", it turns out that some of them are doing quite well. Every person named in this parody is politically on the left, and has a seven (or more) figure net worth, except possibly for "Kennedy", since I don't specify any individual member of this rich family of well-known liberals. Now, I don't have a problem per se with people having lots of money, but while the left often denounce "the rich", they don't seem to mind that "the rich" are sometimes right there in the mirror.

I'm tired of the argument that just because a person is rich he can't speak about the plight of the poor. It is like saying that a white person can't speak about ending racism against non-whites, or a man can't speak about ending the disparity of pay between men and women. 523
I'm tired of it too... I chose not to vote, since I don't want my own bias to affect Steve's ratings, but I would agree that his argument is rather weak.
The point is that capitalism, for all of its flaws, creates more wealth than any other economic system conceived by man. Most of the people named in this parody would like to replace private enterprise with more government, which would make it more difficult for everyone, the rich and the poor, to be productive and to have opportunities to accumulate wealth. Well done, Steve.
John, I don't think anyone wants full fledged socialism, other than maybe Kucinich. Most liberals just want better run social programs, less war, and less corporate welfare.
McKludge is right. I'm very well fed; it doesn't mean that I want people to go hungry. And as you acknowledge, not all liberals are rich, and not all conservatives are rich, but it seems those on the right care less about the poor or whether their policies impoverish people. BTW, I'm a cash-poor liberal myself. That said, not a bad parody--easy to read and fairly well-argued.
