The Lyrics

A wife's fantasy, or a husband's fantasy of a wife's fantasy? :-)
"You Won't Be Me"

Say, would you be up
for spouse exchange?
Your studly guy I’ll shtup,
mine gets some strange.
You know, for some time
your husband I’ve been eyein’,
and surely you’d please mine
’cause you won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)
You won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)

Don’t you know that new
wood’s fun to try?
Here’s my plan: we’ll screw
each other’s guy.
Now, what do you say?
Won’t you trade Bob for Ray?
He will be glad to play,
’cause you won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)
You won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)

I’m really primed, so enthused, it seems a mission.
I think you’ll find you enjoy this spousal switchin’.

Know when Ray’s with you
he will feel cheer,
and when I’ve got to
Bob, squeals you’ll hear.
Does that seem so wrong?
Girl, please go along --
if I can’t be you, hon,
then, you won’t be me (You won’t be me.)
You won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)

Time is a crime to misuse! We could be blissin’.
Why don’t we try it and see just what we’re missin’?

Don’t you know we two
are still hot. There’s
nothing we’ve lost to
the fleeting years.
Let’s swap swan for swan,
girl, be Ledas “wrong” –
and I won’t be you, hon,
and you won’t be me. (You won’t be me)
You won’t be me. (You won’t be me.)

LA-la-lala la la LA-la-lala la LA-la-lala la LA

© Stan Hall ... If nothing else, writing this gave me a fun chance to give comic classics Bob & Ray a mention. One of the funniest bits I remember seeing on TV-- seems like it migt have been on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" or the "Smothers Comedy Brothers Hour"-- was that pair, pretty hoary even then, sitting in a pair of facing armchairs duetting on Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" :-)

Extra credit for the Bob & Ray shoutout. One of my favorite Bob & Ray bits was about how they were going to change Groundhog Day to Ground Hog Day...

Always loved ol Bob and Ray...I guess it's Ray's son who's still popping up on late nite shows, and here and there, too
