The Lyrics

...play ball ! ...
the batter's gonna be sad
he's feelin' dismay, yeah
the ball is comin' like mad
he's divin' away
he got a pitch slipped inside
he got a pitch slipped ins-i-i-de
he got a pitch slipped inside
and he got scared

the hurler's livid, you see
he's wearin' a frown, yeah
he takes aim at the knees
and flies off the mound
he got a pitch slipped inside
he got a pitch slipped ins-i-i-de
he got a pitch slipped inside
and he got scared

that loco guy is eyein' him sly
the catcher flashed twice
he wants the pitch tight, you see
the batter feels he's goin' to die
he sees it take flight
about his chin height...woo-eeeee

the batter knew it'd be bad
so he starts to pray, yeah
a premonition, he had
it'd be a tough day
he got a pitch slipped inside
he got a pitch slipped ins-i-i-de
he got a pitch slipped inside
and he got scared
that batter got scared
that batter got scared
that batter got scared

A Ruthian 555-footer. Deliciously, tho', last night's last pitch to Zimmerman was up and just enough in to pull out. Icing on a cake already made tasty by the booing a certain ^$*&%* received flinging the ceremonial first pitch 'way high. :-)

Sir Alvin, ~Duke o'Swerve~ I could almost hear the late Lon Simmonds saying ins i i i de! His daughter owns a cafe in San Carlos on the El Camino that contains a lot of Giants/Simmonds memorabilia.

Get Don Zimmer to get that headhunter out of there! Oops, he threw Zim to the ground, and it was a 5.55 on the Richter scale!

Alvin - Could make for a whole new meaning for "base on balls" or should I say "abrased on balls". Nice opener. Play ball! In this case we are changing the rules and making 5 balls a walk. And this one walks just fine - in fact it fly rule doubles.

This parody is right on pitch....right in season, too...and the Indians beat Chicago, today, in their opener...

thanks guy....thanks AFW...and the dodgers beat those orange and black fellows from the bay area

The syllable scheme down is perfect. The lyrics are simple, and tell a good story. All of that is not an easy accomplishment.
