The Lyrics

Don't know the original? Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okS3nKevD90
Oh darling, repossess my heart
And foreclose upon my eyes
No, do not split our stock apart
Our futures still are thrilling

I'll take my chances
For finance is
So important to me
In you I'll invest
Show your treasure chest
'cause a high-yield fund makes three

Oh darling, repossess my heart
Oh no, no, no, please do not short me
With you my inflation does start
Soon, a merger we'll achieve

I don't believe that you'll ever ever hedge
Please take my long position in your wedge
Darling, your assets
Are of great interest
Listen can't you see

Oh darling repossess my heart
A firm offer's what you need
A friendly takeover let's start
A growth opportunity

Let's go private
Seal and sign it
Benefits we will see
Please don't defer it
'Cause I'd prefer it
A big deposit now from me

Oh darling, repossess my heart
No, no, no, no I can't be a loan
No, do not split our stock apart
See, my actuals have grown

Oh darling repossess our love
'Cause a firm offer's what you need
Oh darling repossess our love
And then let's do the dirty deed

Whoopsies! The last stanza should be "Oh darling, repossess my heart" as in the rest of the song. What was I thinking?

nice merging of romanticism and economics

A masterpiece of double-dipping entendre.

"Please take my long position in your wedge"--that was clever! $555

A great ode to a lesser-known Beatles number.

Sir, I took a 2nd look at this poem; it is almost Shakespearian in its romantic litling sonnet-like verses to your Lady . . . very sweeet, Lord Mason.

(SOTM) Very good

The Accountant's Love Song. Very clever with some great puns, and I hated taking accounting class in college so anything that makes fun of accounting is good in my book.

Made with heart and soul

Having just transferred from Guy's version of economical love transitions I'd say this pair of parodies should make quite an exchange to remember on the "stock" market, and as bad as that attempt at puns was I'll still ad that I hope the woman in question here is a pub(l)ic servant so that it's also OK to gawk at her community chest... :-)

You maximized the dividends of laughs in this one. 555

3rd viewing . . . still is quite poetic, sir ! The words have a sadness that is very lilting . . . .

I thought I'd commented on this one already, but obviously not. I seem to remember trying to be witty about a bare.. er bear market

(SOTM) Who knew stockbrokers could be so romantic? Brilliantly original idea, with some blue ribbon punning. SELL! SELL! 555

(SOTM) Sounds like a Weird Al song, it has so much double-entendrees. Thus, this parody is AWESOME. Well done, mate! Can a write you a check for $555?

(SOTM-Apr-08) Being this is a Beatles song I thought for a short time while reading this that it may have been about McCartney's divorce. It could have gone that way if you pushed it I think. Still a fine write and Peter is sharp to see the contrast between my SOTM entry and yours.

A kinky banker's song... wow, that's a new idea by me. Lots of great lines here, Mason, too many to mention.

(SOTM) Original is certainly the best word to describe this song. I think the fact that you were able to turn financial statements into puns is funny, and the pacing was done really well.

SOTM- Very original, the puns are very well executed. Well done, Mason.
