Mike--he's not that many years older than the Paul or Ringo...
(Amiright Idol) You took a risky song out of the catalog to parody. Pretty clever, almost like poetry. You also avoided topicality with specific names, which would have hurt it in the long run. I'm iffy about the pacing of the "pow'r points" line.

(AmIRight Idol) Agree with the sentiment of this parody, unfortunately the OS doesn't give you a whole lot to work with to develop the theme. Great title sub, and the pacing was admirable.

Also have to point out, this is not one of the Beatles biggest songs, not that it means you can't parody it obviously, but it makes it hard to get a backing track for, I'm sure I could find it but my three more common sources do not have one which I can purchase.

Impressive in that this reads more like an original than a parody: I wouldn't have been surprised if these were the original lyrics. In that sense you've done very well. As a parody though, it's missing on the humor end, and by keeping it neutral in view (an admirable thing to do with political parodies these days), you kinda declawed this one too much, Melanie. TOS didn't give you much to work with, and I do appreciate what you did with the lyrics at hand. This one just didn't grab me, sorry. 545

"Pow'r points" would read like two syllables. "Power" is two syllables, but "pow'r" is one syllable, like "hour" can be. Thanks for your comments!

I know EXACTLY what you mean with that Melanie, I think I get docked a lot of times on pacing when I know it works because words can be pronounced so many different ways. . .that's why I gave you a 5 on pacing, or as I said "Admirable"
