The Lyrics

Have any of you ever felt like this...?
Yesterday

Yesterday…
Had to throw my favorite vest away
And I’m feeling rather stressed today
I’m hearing rhymes for “yesterday”

“Suddenly”
Now, I’m picturing a SUV
And a man dressed like a bumblebee
Oh, what the heck is wrong with me ?

Why I
Think this way…I can’t tell… it can be hell
Once I…
Saw a Doc…but his name was Rockford Locke
Oh…no…no…

Just today
At the school I saw some kids at play,
Then I thought of Arthur Vandelay
I saw that re-run…yesterday

When I
Try to sleep…counting sheep…is not the way
I think…
Ewes-Shoes-News…and my Blues…are here to stay…
Ay…ay…ay

Blessed today
Fr. Martin was my guest today
Now, I’m no longer possessed today
And I can get some rest today

This parody is just plain crazy! Like an inner monolouge of a parodist, whose actual life has become a parody (Or at least the way he looks at life). I guess this can be a bit true about all of us.

I'm one day late commenting on this one, but that seems appropriate...

I can relate. I once bet someone I could sub the word ewe with you and make a barnyard ballad out of anything

Artistry-34

This is so good that I'd wished to have read it yesterday. Huh? And whatever it was you took when you wrote this, I want some. =;-) Maybe then I could get a good nights rest.

(Artistry) This was miles better than my parody of the same OS. And I agree with Guy, I want some of whatever you were/are smoking! 555 trips for you!

(Artistry) Que, surreal, surreal. Whatever it is, it is.

An interesting and successful stream of conscience parody, IB. Nice job on the dactylic rhymes in the first and last verses.

(Artistry) The mind of a parodist is a frightening thing. The uninitiated should beware, take care, don't stare...AAARGH, now you've got me doing it! Where's that exorcist?

Great song. You (had me in stitches. (Laughs, but his laugh is that of John Candy) (Gasps) I'm turning into John Candy.

(Artistry) After reading this, I think I may have found someone who can appreciate what goes through my head when I write things like "Twinkie King", "Subliminal Danger", and "Tire Muncher"

What BAD said. You'd understand my head when I wrote "Must've Been Drugs, but I'm Sober Now"

Quite the bizarre song, I enjoyed reading a few times and wondering what you had before bed when this popped in there!

(Artistry) I'm glad I haven't gotten to the point of dreaming about rhyming schemes. But I'm sure it's coming. :-) Nice one IB.

I really admire this song. It's like a cross between GroundHog Day and one of David Cronenberg's films. I like some of David Cronenburg's movies, my favourites being VideoDrome and the 80's remake of The Fly.
