Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Someone commented on my previous Beatles parody, "Dr. Pepper Don't Contain No Prunes", a parody of the classic Fab Four tune "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", that there should be a follow-up sung in the persona of legendary TV pitchman Billy Mays (who made a cameo appearance in the parody), based on "With A Little Help From My Friends", which usually follows "Sgt. Pepper" when played on the radio and follows "Sgt. Pepper" on the album on which both OSs (original songs) first appeared on. This parody would work best sung by someone with a voice like that of the great salesman himself, Billy Mays.
What would you think if I gave you a can
Of this drink labeled in red and white?
Hold out your hand and I'll give you a can
Of Dr. Pepper that’s ice-cold
Oh, drink this drink made without prunes
Oh, drink this Dr. Pepper, and it’s free
Here is your Dr. Pepper, free of charge

What do I do when I’m far from the john?
(Does it worry you to be so far?)
How do I feel when I sit on the john?
(No diarrhea, ‘cause there are no prunes)
My thirst is quenched by a cold drink, in red can
Oh, I get high with caffeine from a can
No gastric distress from this drink in a can

(Are you thirsty, or aren’t you?)
Need something cold to drink?
(Hey, are you dehydrated?)
I want something cold to drink

(Would you believe in a love at first sip?)
I am certain that it happens all the time
(From your rectum, nothing at all drips)
I will tell you, and I know it’s true
Oh, drink this drink made without prunes
Oh, drink this Dr. Pepper, and it’s free
Here is your Dr. Pepper, free of charge

(Are you thirsty, or aren’t you?)
Need something cold to drink?
(Hey, are you dehydrated?)
I want something cold to drink

My thirst is quenched by a cold drink, in red can
Oh, I get high with caffeine from a can
No gastric distress from this drink in a can
There are no back-door trots with this drink
Lots of flavors, not a single prune

Thanks Alvin, it's a definite possibility, or at least every song that I can make work, thanks Jason, yeah I do love the stuff, I'm drinking a liter bottle of it right now, and a Red Bull parody might be in the cards soon, and thanks Mark.

Thanks, AFW, Dr. Pepper has been around since the 1890s, and thanks, Timmy1000. I don't own the original album on CD, vinyl or any other format, so I'll have to find out where the track listing is online to find the list of OSs.

As of today, legendary TV infomercial personality Billy Mays, whom this parody was influenced by and themed on, is dead. He was 50 years old, and foul play is not suspected. A memorial/tribute parody is in the works and tentatively set for sometime very soon. My condolences go out to Billy's friends and family, and to fellow informercial afficionados.

The author of the parody has authorized comments, and wants YOUR feedback.
