The Lyrics

This Dad's just about had it with his son's, er, unhealthy obsession...
~

Back when you were three you favored Mother Goose
Had to read 'er every night
Then at six you dumped her ass for Dr. Seuss
Who you to this day recite...
Still yackin' the Seusses you are
You don't know how schmuky you are, boy
Yackin' the Seuss is - BIZARRE!
[Yowwwwwww!]

Damn "Cat In The Rap" as it trips off your tongue
Damn your trib' band, "wHoreton" too!
Scattin' anapestic verse was cute when young--
Son, you're nearin' forty-two!
Yer mackin' the Seusses too far
You don't know how sucky you are, boy
Yackin' the Seusses-
Gakin' the Seusses-
Whackin' to Seuss is BIZARRE!

Well your 'One Fish Gangsta' Emo Funk's
A sin against mankind
But when you thrashed 'Ska Mulberry Punk'
It bleww-eww-eww-eww out a chunk-unk-unk-unk-unka my mind!

[Aw, come on!
BartholomEwww!!!?
Fox *In* Gox??]

~ instruMENTAL ~

*Still* quack'in those Seusses, you are
I'm up for bustin' some gi'tar, boy
Jack'in' to Seuss goes TOO FAR!

Well I sure could use a 'Zans for Cans'
To cut my ears clean off
'Cause list'ning to 'Green Dr'eggs In Clam'
Is dri-i-i-vin' me to drink-ink-ink-ink-ink like The Hoff!

Love all music--New Age Soul to Gothy schlock
Then I felt my eardrums bleed
While you plopped a steamin' load called 'Yertle Shock'
Drop me off at Walter Reed...
Yer mackin' the Seusses too far
You don't know how sucky you are, boy
Whackin' to Seuss is BIZARRE!

[Ohhh Kaaay, Thid'dick...]
Yer Gak'in' the 'Seuss Sass' TOO FAR!
[That's right Son-of-Sam-I-Am...]
Sackin' the Seuss, AU REVOIR!

[Hey! *This time* I MEAN IT, SON!!]

Made me think that forty or fifty years from now we'll have a bunch of world leaders who can qoute Harry Potter, that'll make UN negotiations "interresting" to say the least...

Loved the idea behind this one TJC as well as the name of the tribute band "wHorton" lol... What's the movie based on it called? "wHorton hears a Ho?" I just wish you were able to work The Grinch in there somewheres, but this was still a bang up job to a pretty tricky Beatles song.

What... something like this:

Your son didn't shine
He was too wet to play
So he sat in and read
Dr Seuss every day
The same bloody poems
The same bloody rhymes
And they've been repeated
'Bout ten million times

...I share your pain (though in my case it was Peter ******* Rabbit, rather than Dr Seuss)

I do not mean to be uncouth
So please don't read me Dr. Seusse
I will not listen, it's no use
Not even for some fine vermouth
Or pampering from some masseuse
So put the book down, turn it loose
I've had it with that Dr. Seusse

Actually I find Dr. Seusse rather clever as is this fine parody on the subject. Very nice - 5's.

M'lady - I haven't really been gone - just not writing very much but I have been active in the ABC messageboard competitions. I managed a tie for 2nd in the last round with a mob parody called "Just Chill, Rocco, Moll and Me. I will have a couple out this week when Chucky finds time to publish. One is a rewrite that went from four verses to seven verses because the OS evolved over a period of time and I needed a good ABC for the next round of competition. The other is a Jim Croce OS that I may or my not publish. It's a bit clunky in parts - i'm rusty from not writing. Thanks for the shout out and I'm always pleased to see you commenting.

Said TJ, the DJ, a writer, the best,
"I'm tired. I'm bored. So I *must* anapest!"
His parody earns him three Fives and a star
But Yertle: Stern-shock-jock? That's going too far!

Yertle T.T'urtle: Thank you Kind King! I started out with 'budapest', but it came out absolutely gavorable!

TSG: Wait, wait wait! I can hardly wait! Must I, thrust I, lust I wait?
