The Lyrics

It's Monday, back to work. :-P

Stress for pay
All the hassles steam me every day
All these schnooks, why can't they go away?
But I can't leave this stress for pay

Slovenly
What I call the man sits next to me
There's this B.O., heavy odor, see
Oh stress for pay, lame slovenly

Try, I could just go, but I know
It wouldn't pay
I can't get along
On a song without my pay

Stress for pay
Know it's not an easy game to play
How I bleed, please take your knife away
Wish I could leave this stress for pay

Why I can't just go, all this woe
Why should I stay?
I just don't belong
Madding throng, this stress for pay

Stress for pay, aka J-O-B.

You're welcome. Sometimes the same happens with my parodies, and of course those of other writers. :-)

This is a top-class parody, Blackjack - those schmucks in your workplace don't appreciate your talents, but I do! 555

I'm not one who's easily impressed by the rhyming I see posted here, but I have to say that I was truly impressed by your substitution of 'slovenly' for 'suddenly'!!!...So much so that I took the time to go through every parody of 'Yesterday' to see if anyone did any better, and I have to report that no one else even came close!!!...You better be careful though, because if you get hooked on syllable-matching rhyming (like I did), you'll find it to be a very difficult addiction to shake...Keep up the good work!!!...555!!!

Leo: I totally missed this comment until today! I guess I had already written this parody off as a dud. Thank you for taking the time to comment so graciously. And to go through all the parodies of Yesterday! Are you serious? This means a lot coming from someone who I consider to be one of the best subbers/rhymers I've seen on this site. So thanks Leo, you just made my week. :-D

You're welcome...As far as duds go, a lot of times that's just the luck of draw on the day a parody is posted...You ought to consider entering some of the competitions on InThe00s - that's where the real action is - I've had songs that barely got any notice when I originally posted them get podium-level response in the ABC comp...The more good parodists we can get to participate in the comps, the better it is for everyone involved...Plus, it's an excellent learning experience trying to figure out how to write stuff that will please a group of experts whose ages range from teenaged all the way up to senior citizen...I know I've learned a lot already, and one of the things I've learned is that I still have a lot to learn.
