The Lyrics

Cooter’s chasing me ~ and so...
I gun the Gen’ral Lee ~ I’ll show
That Rosco
I’m not going to jail and walk the line

Got a load of shine ~ and so
I can’t be doing time ~ same goes
For you Bo
We’re not going to jail or pay a fine

We’re too fast ~ We’ll leave them in the dust
Hit the gas ~ They’re never catching us

Oh! now this is just insane ~ we won’t
Make it beyond the train ~ I don’t
Thuh...think so
We just jumped the tracks now we’re flyin’

Weeeeeee!

Daisy’s on the line ~ she knows
That Boss Hogg dropped the dime ~ we’ll show
That fatso
We know of a place they’ll never find

On the lam ~ crashing in a motel
Our tight jam ~ deserves a Rebel Yell

Yeee Hah!

Can’t go back to Jesse’s farm ~ you know
We never mean no harm ~ but oh
We’re trouble
We’re sittin’ pretty ‘cross county lines
Just two good old boys stuck running shine, Hmmm

Oh, dem Duke boys!

I thought Cooter was the mechanic. Why would he chase Bo and Luke?

"Just the good ol' boys, never meanin' no harm, beats all you ever saw been in trouble with the law since the day they was born"....well, you know the rest! Those Dukes are incredible and I enjoyed watching them when it used to air on the CMT channel, and when I was kid I watched them occasionally. This is such a funny show, the Dukes. They're not criminals, they're just fighting the system like 2 modern day Robin Hoods! We all know Hogg is the real criminal 'cuz all he wants is money! Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jesse, and Cooter each want to grant you 3 sets of 5's! Yeeeeee-haaaaahhhh!!! Here's what I got to say about your song: (imitates Rosco) "Oh, I love it, I love it, I love it!! Gyuh, gyuh, gyuh, gyuh! Don't you let anybody scuff your song, now!"
