The Lyrics

One of my favorite amirighters (and favorite people ever) has been sitting on sixty-three submissions for the last week. I'd like to commemorate her next post with a parody. ;D

andria's written sixty-three songs
All of them are good!
With the finest songsters she can walk the walk
Now she's suff-ring from writer's block.
I know, I've been there! It isn't fun.
It's an awful chore.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting - anticipating
andria's Sixty Four.

(Four measure instrumental break)
Wish I could help out!
But friend, don't let it get you down.
You'll turn it about.

Soon you'll be back, delighting us all
In that special way
And those clever parodies will make us smile
In your unique sly funny style.
No one is like you, as I have said
Many times before.
Bring on those lyrics and all those cool tricks
andria's Sixty Four.

In the meantime race your Datsun on the twisty backroads up in Oregon.
New ideas will come.
I know you won't turn out like me,
Writing stuff that's dumb!

When you are ready, send us a post
Brighten up our day.
You're the comic angel of the great Northwest
It's no wonder we like you best.
Give us a chuckle, give us a dig.
We can't wait for more.
I hear the drumming, I know it's coming
andria's Sixty Four!

With my gift for procrastination, watch this get posted in time for andria's sixty-seventh song! ;D

Nice tribute! Always a pleasure readin....

Good tribute & we've all had writer's block - I'm only a few ahead of you in output & new ideas (for popular songs) are already few & far between.

Andria - do you really drive a Datsun? I had a Datsun Violet 1400J in the 80's - when I sold it, I doubled its value by filling up the petrol tank! :)

Great tribute! I enjoyed it, and regardless of who it's about, it's still one of the better tribute parodies I've ever seen here .

AFW: Of course I'm not that old! BTW, the only person named Andria who was anywhere near 64 years old whom I've ever heard of was an ex-neighbor of mine who died falling off a balcony while drunk at the age of 58.

Andy Primus: Yes, I do own a Datsun. It's a 1966 1600 Roadster with a removable hard top, I won it in a raffle contest. It's quite a nice car, comparable if not better to an M.G., a Triumph or a Fiat. I also owned a pickup and what is called a B210 in America, and they were crap. I think they might have cheapened their product in the 70s to compete with Volkswagen.

blackjack: LOL. I'm not even 30 yet, and I'm getting a kick out of all the comments implying that I'm old enough to join the AARP and collect social-security retirement benefits.

Great tribute to my BFF on AIR! That was very nice of you to write a tribute about her. I've always enjoyed her comments as well as her parodies! :)

Christie: Thanks so much for the nice comment! BTW, regarding parodies, every time an idea comes into my head, it vanishes within seconds. I think that my hair follicles cover up holes in my head that thoughts leak out of. If that's the case, then my head must have A LOT of holes in it, as in many hundreds of thousands. ;-)
BR>TJC: Thank you!
