Original Song Title:

"Day Tripper"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Fleebaggers"

Parody Written by:

Steve Kalafut

The Lyrics

The title is a derogatory term used by the right for the 14 Democratic Wisconsin state Senators who drove down to Illinois instead of voting on legislation intended to modify the state's relationship with the teachers' union, and is derived from "teabagger", a derogatory term used by the left for the Tea Party movement.
Got a good reason
For running away from your jobas?
Got a good reason
For running away from your jobs, now?
They are the fleebaggers
Senate Democrats
They're from Wisconsin
We found out, they ran out

Walked out in protest
They ran down to Illinois
Walked out in protest
They ran down to Illinois, now
They are the fleebaggers
Didn't want to stay
They all should go back
To their jobs, what a mob

[guitar solo]

They're in Rockford
Hanging around way down there
They're in Rockford
Hanging around way down there, now
They are the fleebaggers
Absent without leave
You shouldn't wander
Like a gnome, please go home

Fleebaggers
Fleebaggers, yeah
[repeat and fade]
