The Lyrics

Another song I'm going to have to post now. Monday may be too late.
Blasphemy
Billboards filled with bogus prophecy
Fake evangelists solicit me
They're doing well, financially

Suddenly,
We're discussing eschatology
Our divergent views, theology
Exploiting mass psychology

When will we all go? No one knows
The Lord won't say
Preachers get it wrong
When they try to set a day

Saturday
On the twenty-first of May
The world we know will pass away
We're due to face the Judgment Day

End-time stories score, hoping for
Calamity
Books and films abound
It's a major industry

Logically,
Think about it critically
They've no foundation, Biblically
And this whole scam is blasphemy

Funnily enough, I've got a "Blasphemy" parody to this tune started.. started it after thinking:
Blasphemy
Is a real pain in the ass for me
..but haven't really worked out where it goes from there. Nice one :-)

I started the song a month or so ago on the way to an Easter cantata, where someone suggested that if I tried to sing in a church that lightning would strike. I immediately came up with "Blasphemy, of sacred things, a mockery" but had nowhere else to go with it until I heard about the latest end of the world prediction.

Another great take on the same subject. I think there will be so few people that qualify to be 'raptured' on May 21 that hardly anyone will notice that it happened.

Just in case, I've stored an extra jug of water and a can of tuna

I read one believer's comment that if he wasn't taken away in the Rapture, that just meant he wasn't worth saving...but that it still will have happened. Kind of depressing defending a belief like that, don't you think? This parody...not depressing. Loved it!

Been away;
Disappeared on 21st of May.
Now I'm back to vote 5-5-5 (yay!)
For high achievement: blest wordplay.

You forgot the final OS line (Mm mm mm mm mm mm mm), maybe because BHO idolators used all of them. ;-)

Saw this late
Saw no problem that did actuate
Armageddon, they did overrate
Instead they had a mass debate
