The Lyrics

Parody #13 in H2G2/White Album for those keeping track. This is based on a discussion between Marvin the Paranoid Android and a swamp-dwelling mattress in "Life, the Universe, and Everything". Really obscure I know. Enjoy all you fans who got through the third book in the series. For the definitions of 'Willowmy', 'Glurry', 'Flollop', 'Flurble' and other mattress speech, either get a copy of Squornshellous Swamptalk, or read your copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I’m a Mattress. Name is Zem.
I’m a Mattress. Name is Zem.
Someday they’ll dead and bed me
But, I don’t know really when

See my friend here, his name’s Zem
And my giiiirlfriend, her name’s Zem
And here’s my brother Freddy…
No, his name is also Zem

I flollop into the mud
I willomy when I’m glad
And you should be more mattress-like
It’s really not so bad

A Mattress. Name is Zem.
Someday they’ll come and get me
Or, well maybe one of them

I see you pacing there
Complaining at the moon
I glurry and I lurgle
While I’m loudly calling ‘VOON’

Mattress. Name is Zem.
Forget it, just be happy
Oh, don’t think about the doom

Flurble floopily,”
Don’t be so distressed
(Stop) pacing and be idle
Lay on me and get some rest”

Name is Zem.
Yes, name is Zem.
And if they come and get me
Go, and lay on one of them.

More of the H2G2 parodies :-) Wouldn't have considered either the subject matter or the OS, so kudos where it's due.

I can't remember anything about the book, but that certainly conveys the feeling of it!

I honestly haven't read this book in the series for a very long time. Not even sure if I made it this far in the series because I don't remember much about this happening at all. Of course it might have just been minor and obscure. Still I love that you keep trucking away with this topic and this album. Great work!
