The Lyrics

#16 in H2G2/White Album series. I was excited about this OS and this one was especially fun to write. I hope it's enjoyable, since we're treading familiar territory for everyone who's already read the others. If you haven't visited the others yet, why not wait a while until the series is done? I'll submit it as an album when it is, no worries. ENJOY ALL YOU GALAXY HIKERS!
Now somewhere in the dark plural zones of this sector
There lived a dull man named Arthur P. Dent
And one day his woman ran off with a Beeblebrox
Showed her where his ship was docked, Arthur didn't like that
He said "I wanna have some tea"
Then one day he hitched on a ship
Took himself a trip with a towel to grip

Arthur P. Dent, was one simple gent’
Looking to find peace and quiet
Arthur’s friend Ford, he helped him aboard
The Heart made of Gold, with its pilot

The pilot it stocks, Zaphod Beeblebrox,
Had stolen this girl while space dartin’
Her name was McMill’ and she called herself Trill’
And she was the nicest to Marvin

Now Marvin the ‘droid, well he’s paranoid
And also too smart to be steady
The doors would all sigh, as you passed them by
And a friendly voice came straight from Eddie

Now crew and their ship – through space-time they’d skip
While Arthur collapsed into madness

D'do, do, do...
(During this break, there’s a montage of different events from the first three books)

Now when Arthur came to, thought ‘forty-two’
And proceeded to see Slartibartfast
He said “Arthur I did the coast”
And Arthur said, "Slart, there’s no need to boast
I’d like to see it, like to see it
Slart, assuming there’s no bypass”

And now Arthur P. Dent, he had seen the extent
How space and time are erratic
Good thing he looked, at that popular book
That said on the back ‘DO NOT PANIC’, ahhhh, yeah yeah

D'do, do, do (c'mon Arthur boy)

That's the story of Arthur P. Dent

It's not the end of the world if I don't give you a five... but I'll give you one anyway.

This may be my favorite so far--delightful wordplay.

Rocky Racoon is a great song to parody. I did one called Rocky Raquel, about a guy who stalks Nancy Grace after seeing her wardrobe malfunction on DWTS. Yours is better as it is consistently strong throughout. Mine flagged in a couple of spots, but also did have some pretty funny subs

Thanks for the extra strong support on this one everyone. It's very appreciated. Mike, good to see you. Porf, you should try 'ROCKY' if you haven't, I think you'd to an excellent parody to it. Melannie, I'll check yours out soon, and Matt, can't thank you enough for supporting all the entries. You inspired the one about Milliways :c)

Thanks for the suggestion, Lennie and Glen, I'll put my remaining brain cells to work on it and try to come up with something halfway as good as this one!

(SOTM) TMGLTM, but the "erratic/don't panic" line was one of my faves. Kudos for mentioning Eddie, wasn't expecting that. 555!

I'm in the same boat as Arwen, I have no idea what this is about...but the pacing was spot on, which is quite important in my book. Nice work!
