Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Now somewhere in the cold, hidden depths of a U-boat
Was an anti-radar secret balloon
Called Aphrodite, it was destined to fly up high
Hit radar waves in the sky, Allies wouldn't like that
Was a secret radar decoy
Used so the U-boat won’t be found
Taken from the steel tomb, they released the balloon

Secret balloon gave off returns soon
Essential to U-boat survival
Metallic coating reflected the sun
Plane panicked- Foo Fighter arrival!!!
The balloon it seems broke up bomber streams
Thought it to be something quite deadly
Mistaken for Siefenblasen made them ill
There were few, but Allies thought many
The planes had no plan, when spotted they scrammed
Were in shock, afraid of a showdown
But one failed to run, spinning his gun
Emptied his .50 cal, shot it down
Had hit the right spot, blew-up with a POP!!!
And the U-boat showed-up on the radar, A-Ha!

Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a- tat, tat, tat
Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a- tat, tat, tat
Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a-tat, Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a-tat
Got you, got you, got you!!!

Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a- tat, boom, boom, boom
Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a- tat, boom, boom, boom
Rat-a, rat-a, rat-a- tat, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom
Got you, got you, got you!!!

Now the Capt. came up, was very awe-struck
And quickly, he gave the order to dive
Told the balloon had failed, secure the hatch
24’s turning and it will soon be back
Was too late, Flak gunners FEUER!!! for us to survive!!!

And thus, the secret balloon had led to their doom
Fat chance on the sea with survival
The hull set ablaze, with fires' smoky haze
Onboard there was no such denial
Nein, Nein!

Doom, doom, doom, do, do, doom
Doom, doom, doom, do, do, doom
Down, down, down, dow, dow, down, down, down, down
She go, go, go, go, goes

Down, down, down, dow, dow, down, failed U-boat decoy
Down, down, down, dow, dow, down, failed U-boat decoy
Down, down, down, dow, dow, down, down, down, down
The boat was sunk right there…

I forgot to leave comments in the upper box, so I should explain some of the weapons. The U-boat would be a Type VIIC/42 with added Quad 20s AA guns, the Aphrodite was a metallic balloon launched from the U-boat as radar decoy and was many times confused with the Foo Fighters which were German discoid and circular weapons that tried to bring down bombers and intruder aircraft by creating an Electrostatic discharge close to their engines; among them was the Luftwaffe equivalent of Aphrodite- Siefenblasen (Soap Bubbles)... so Allied crews that spotted these in daylight or night had a fear of them. The 24 in the lyrics is a B-24 Liberator and the .50 cal is a US M-2 machine gun. "FEUER" in German is "FIRE"!!!
