Song Parodies -> "I'm Gonna Dine At Chick-fil-A"

Original Song Title:

"You've Got To Hide Your Love Away"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"I'm Gonna Dine At Chick-fil-A"

Parody Written by:

Brock O'Brahma

The Lyrics

"Chick-fil-A values are not Chicago values" - Mayor Rahm Emanuel (not really a threat, I guess)... "There is no place for disrimination on Boston's Freedom Trail and no place for your company alongside it". - Mayor Tom Menino (kind of a threat, it would seem)..."Closest Chick-Fil-A to San Francisco is 40 miles away & I strongly recommend that they not try to come any closer." - Mayor Edwin Lee (okay, now that's defininitely a bit threaty). Has the country been fundamentally transformed already? Boston Mayor Tom Menino and San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee seem to think so. Has the First Amendment been altered to allow Federal, State, or Local government to tell business owners, "You can't build that if your beliefs don't agree with ours". Even supreme wackjob Michael Bloomberg hasn't drank that particular Koolaid yet, saying, "It is inappropriate for a government entity to look at somebody's political views and decide whether or not they can live in the city, or operate a business in the city, or work for somebody in the city." (just don't sell 17oz or bigger soda pop).

Here's the deal you Donkey Three
It's called freedom of speech
Rahm and Tom and Edwin Lee
Dumb as Mayor McCheese

Everywhere people talk
It's our founding right
Barry's thugs would wipe their ass
With the Bill Of Rights

Hey, they want to ban new Ckick-fil-A's
When, did they transform the U.S.A.?

It's the folks who decide
If a boycot wins
Zoning bans for beliefs
Sounds like Ho Chí Minh

So today I will dine
At a Chick-fil-A
Drink a Coke, eat some fries
And chant "U-S-A"

Hey, I'm gonna dine at Chick-fil-A
Cuz, the First Amendment is so great
Spokesmen for these mayors have reassured the media that what was threatened wasn't what's cogent in the contextual milieu of what is a reverberating thread of evolving social and empirical mindsets involving everchanging subtext.

BO'B: A fitting anthem for Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day (August 1)!
LOL at your extro as well as intro lampooning of pompous politicos.

But I am a troglodytic ahole.

Good song! The loonie left never ceases to amaze me!

I didn't even know there was a Chick-Fil-A in Kansas City, Kansas. Internet reviews are quite favorable. I will have to "chick" them out this evening. Personally I don't care if gays get married. I have my mail order minister's card, so if anyone wants to have a ceremony, I can sure use the money. Can't guarantee if it's all legal, but that doesn't seem to matter any more.

5s!!! I may have to just jump on this bandwagon myself... but would probably use "Chic Filet" instead ;-D

HA! It took me a mere 3 minutes to alter yesterday's "Chick-fil-A" into "Chic Filet"!!!

I admit it, I have knowingly eaten at places where I didn't agree with the owner's political views.

Great use of the original lyric. And you're absolutely right about freedom of speech. You've as much right to eat there as others have the right to boycott it. Though it does seem a bit weird, "Eat at Chic-Fil-A for America..."

I'm amazed Dan Cathy had time to post a comment here at Amiright calling himself an a-hole. I would have thought he would have been too busy dealing with the 10 X normal sales volume he experienced today as a result of the devastating liberal boycott

Thanks for the votes and comments! If a conservative mayor called for a boycott of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, I'd be stocking up on "Neopolitan Dynamite". I boycotted Howard Stern years ago but that didn't seem to take, I heard he's almost a billionaire.

And here I always thought Chick-Fil-A was an extra small size of jeans.

Drove past the local Chick-fil-A three times yesterday. Each time the line of cars was longer, and the crowd of people standing the 100°+ heat to go inside went from around 50 to two lines with well over 200. Isn't Friday supposed to be gay protest day? Will be interesting to see how many turn out for that.

Brock O'Buddy, I just doubled your audience. I just posted a different version of "Hey, I've Got to Dine At Chik Fil A" at a conservative website called "The Peoples Cube" I used the reference to Ho Chi Minh so I gave you a hat tip and a link. If you Google "Beatles Pay Tribute to Chik Fil A" you'll find it

I never have eaten at Chick-fil-A and was surprised to see that there is 1 in my area, but that the lines are 200+. Was in my paper today. I can understand the support and protests... but is the food any good???

Thanks for the extra exposure, Lennie! Cool website, I'll be checking it out. Your "Yesterday" parody is also excellent. Rob, they have a spicy chicken sandwich that's good and actually has some heat. Especially if you add the pepper jack cheese option.
