The Lyrics

I'm continuing to post all my Beatle parodies on this wonderful site. Good, bad and ugly, at least I can say I did them all.
When I was younger, still had my hair
Many years ago
I could sing a song and really make it mine
Backstage groupies, three at a time
I could stay out till quarter to three
Wake up on the floor
I'm a old fogie, smoking a stogie
Now I'm sixty-four
Fans were younger then
And if they still could hear
I could sing again

Once I wore Spandex, swinging the mike
In the big spotlight
Had a couple drummers but they up and died
Then our bassist's brains got all fried
Playing the garden, live at the Leeds
They stood and cheered for more
Now I'm a fossil, neutered and docile
Cause I'm sixty-four

Every summer we would go on tour and
Earn ten million bucks
Made a tidy sum
But when the taxes came
We found ourselves with none

Send me a lyric, write me a line
Something I can sing
Tell me what you want me to go out and say
I'm right here just wasting away
Make me a demo I need a gig
Open up a door
Fame I once tasted, now I'm just wasted
Cause I'm sixty-four

Very good.

Very appropriate, considering how old McCartney, Starr, Jagger, Richards, Dylan, etc. are getting.

Not bad, but have you seen "When I'm 84"? I wrote it when I found out Sir Cute One was gonna be a father again at 61. Yes, people, that's a shameless plug! Notice I also plugged one of His Name Is Kenny's songs!

Hi Rick! Great work, as usual, and you've set a high bar for yourself. I'm here, of course, cuz you plugged this, without any pretense of shame, from my "When I Hit the Floor", a piece sure to go down as--like I told our friend Michael P--a parody submitted to Amiright. Funny thing here, tho, I've read this one before, loved it, and voted on it. Glitch I guess.. Hey, in answer to your earlier question, I think I just needed to take a break for awhile and play some tunes. Good for you that you have the time and energy to do both, I admire you for that! Later, bro.
