Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

For me, evenings are made for writing.
Wrong word written in the dead of night
Wrote one silly thing and thought it wry
Not quite right
Once had thought it charming, yet a new word did arise

Writ words waiting on a screen of white
Took some jumbled strings and wove a weave
Not quite tight
Fingers poised and waiting for the thin air to concieve

Write word right
Right word? Right
Into rewrite of the wrong word write.

Write word write
Write word right
Must I rewrite all the wrong word writes?

Right word written in the glow of light
Now these woven streams are woven right
Quite all right
Now these words are written, sleep is welcome to arrive
Now these words are written, sleep is welcome to arrive
Hope that I’ll awaken with some new words to refine.

Nice one, Warren, sorry I was slow getting to this, wonder why. You ran with a simple idea for some good wordplay here, repeating sounds without repeating yourself, and an effective finish.

Those 4s are mine. Yes, I'm voting again. I only give 5s for 'excellent on all counts', and this was very good. Despite what somebody here thinks, I rarely give ones. A parody would have to be poorly executed and in extremely poor taste for that. There are a couple of regulars here who are quite capable of 1-ratings, but I know better than to even look at their work.

As I believe I'm one of the few here who use the voting system the way it's meant to be used, i.e. differential ratings, why should good parodists miss out, so I'm lifting my vote boycott. I made my point, I think.

Btw, 'conceive, not 'concieve', tsk. If you see any errors like that on mine, I'd be pleased if you would point them out.

LL kisses up to someone who agrees with him re Arndt. Warren, you're being used in duel between self-righteous do-gooder and monomaniacal no-gooder. Curse both their houses! For being an innocent foil, I'm giving you ignorant 5s. Just punctuating what I beleive. This site is afflicted with infantile analysis.

I think that's very unfair, Wise Guy. How do you explain my previous praise for Warren's work? I would have commented earlier on this had I not been 'distracted'. And I used the opportunity to make a point I felt worth making about voting as well. Sure, it's also an indirect acknowledgment of his support, but that's incidental.

LL- thanks for the votes and the honesty. And I should of (sic) caught the conceive error. I apparently had a synaptic break with the "i" before "e" accept (sic 2) after "c" rule. Or the spell check wasn't working. Probably the ladder (sic 3).
WG- Let me assure you no one kisses me except my wife. And, yes I confess, I was once an innocent foil when I was a novice working at the Reynolds aluminum factory. Thankfully, I'm a foil no longer, although I do occasionally like to look shiny and make crinkling noises.
