Every now and then I'll buy a really weird DVD that I know little about. Last month I bought this horrible flick called " The Bad Batch " starring Suki Waterhouse, Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Giovanni Rabisi, and Jason Mamoa. Set in a future messed up time, the female director got her concept from Trump's promise to build The Wall and expanded it. There's The Fence where all unwanted immigrants, criminals, and undesirables are released into the wild to fend for themselves. Old fashioned ostracization in the extreme. They are given a gallon of water and a fast food Burger. Their journey leads them to one of two places. A Badland where guys chop up strangers to eat as food and a cult Haven called Comfort of people kept on drugs that produce goods to barter with the outside word. Arlen (Waterhouse) falls prey to the former and looses her right arm and leg in gruesome graphic detail and escapes to Comfort only to return back for revenge and ends up adopting a child of the lead killer who goes hunting for her. This movie has almost no speaking. It is a matter of interpretation of eye movement and body language which is annoying. Arlen goes back and forth from the Badland to Comfort, lucid one moment and high on drugs the next. The messages are twisted and the ending is like WTF???
