The Lyrics

Now, today
All my money is so far away
My debts and taxes I couldn't pay
The IRS came yesterday
Suddenly
Don't have all the cash I used to have
And I've worked and worked just like a slave
Oh, yesterday came suddenly
Why they had to come, I'm a bum; my cash was late
They stole all my dough, now I must accept my fa-a-a-ate
Now I say
I'll sue them in court; I'll find a way
All my cash they stole they will repay
Oh, I'll see them in court someday
I'll see them in court someday

Sad, sad, sad.

The original "Yesterday" always brought a tear to my eye. Now there will be real tears. Great job of parodying!

Joelle, It seems pretty good but I'm thinking that it's not the full song, although I honestly can't remember if there is more. So I didn't grade it. Can you (or anyone) straighten me out? What's there seems good to me and I would score it pretty well if you DID do all the song. Thanks.

Yes, Paul, I did do the whole song. You can find the real lyrics here: (among other places) http://www.capleslake.com/YesterdayLyricsBeatles.html Thanks for your comments!

Joelle, thanks for clarifying my question. I was really tired last night and just couldn't remember how many verses the song really had. So many songs flat-out fool you...you think there are a lot more things said than actually are. Anyway, it's good work. I'm probably way too picky on pace sometimes but I still give it a "4-5-4". I came real close to 5's across here, but I did feel it was a shade below perfect in a couple places. Still...Very good. I really don't see how any of the other voting folks could have scored it under "3" but that's just my opinion. OK, NOW I'm outta here for the evening. Manana all...

Joelle, OH MAN...after all that jaw-jerking I didn't post MY VOTE!!! Just came back to check and my "4-5-4" got accepted. Hey, also meant to thank you for the comments you've made on my work and on some other folks' stuff, particularly Claude Prez's "Let Aunt Bee". You really pointed out a gem there and there are a couple of other recommends you've recently made that I've been glad I checked out. I really appreciate it when someone else points out a good one that may have been posted before I started checking the site out or on a day when maybe I wasn't able to look around. I think a lot of other folks do, too.
