The Lyrics

Bob Gomez has over 300 parodies on this site. Among them are five of the "Super Seven" parodies. In fact, his most recent work was number five, if I counted correctly. Give credit where due: Bob has done some excellent work in putting his thoughts to virtual paper--this site, in other words. We may not agree on all things political but I do believe in giving respect where earned. Bob Gomez. this one's for you to honor your parody of a "Super Seven"! And please, keep 'em coming!
I took a view/And saw something new
Gomez came through/So hey-ey-ey-ey
Good on you/ Whoa-oh-oh good on you!

Now he has just done/Another fine one
The struggle he’s won/So ple-e-e-ease
Good job, dude!/Whoa-oh-oh good job, dude!

Seven tough songs (“the supers”, I hear)
He just did one (saw it right here)

This one was rough/Gomez was tough
And I know enough/To say-ay-ay
Good work, dude!/Whoa-oh-oh good on you! (heh)

Interlude

Now Bob has done five/And he’ll stay alive
Till all have arrived/So ple-e-e-ease
Keep on, dude!/Whoa-oh-oh keep on it, dude!

Yeah, good work dude!
Whoa-oh-oh credit’s due

(Fade out)

Yeah, keep at it, dude!

BTW, this is my first attempt at parodying "Love Me Do". Lennon and McCartney, especially in the early days, had some music that was easy to follow--and parody!

I was honored once with a tribute by Leough Keough. Quite an achievement to be saluted by a fellow AIR writer. Bob Gomez may be marking the revival of the Big Seven challenge. I've done three myself, not sure I'm up to the other four. I'll be watching to see how the next entries come. Good work!

Hey, Patrick, best of luck on your quest for parodic immortality, and while you're at it, give "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Baby Got Back" a shot! d;^)

Patrick, I second Bob's motion. Good luck on parodying the Terrible Three remaining of the Super Seven!

As long as we're talking Big Seven, what about "I Put A Spell On You" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. That one looks easy but only six people have ever managed to do it. It's a lot tougher than it looks ;-D

I challenged Leough to do "Lily, Rosemary, and the Jack of Hearts" and "Chimes of Freedom", and he did them! I offered up "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" and I never heard from him again. Does anyone know what happened? I've done a "Major General", and a couple of "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" parodies. "I did two pairings of "American Pie", which the late Tommy Turtle found to be unacceptable. I don't know "Bohemian Rhapsody" all that well. "Blinded by the Light" is one of those songs that seemed to get longer every time I heard it on the radio. Mr. Burns, on "The Simpsons" did such a great take off of "Be My Guest", that I can't think of any way to surpass it.

I know what you mean about "Blinded By The Light". One version had a duration or play time or whatever it's called of about 2-3 minutes--pretty much standard gauge for a pop/rock song of the time. There was another version, same song, that seemed to last 10 minutes!--nearly half of one side of an LP album! Even the group Yes had at least two versions of "Roundabout" and DJ's would be careful (maybe they had to) say which version they were playing. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is indeed tough but kudos to those souls who've tried. To repeat, I'll wait a little before even trying for one of the Super Seven even though there are a number who have done so, and done so very well indeed!

"Bo Rhap" is easy. You should sub "We didn't Start The Fire" which is much more difficult. Of course it helps if you really like the song. I didn't when it initially came out, but years later it was prominent in a scene from "Wayne's World", which my kiddoes thought was hilarious. So that endeared the song to me.
