The Lyrics

Side B to Darius.Whitehead's "A Day At I-HOP"
Here come ol' Flap Jack
He come ... waddlin' in slowly
He at ... Duluth I-HOP
He one .. roly poly
He got crepes added to his dish
Got to reach for yogurt
He gon' make it delish
Ton together ... sat down ... next to me

He scarf no health food
He got .. French Toast Combo
He lick sticky fingers
He choose ... Jumbo Cola
He say, "I know food, food knows me"
One thing I can tell you is
The second plate's free
Ton together ... sat down ... next to me

He bag for munchies
He got .. Waffle Combo
He stow .. pork link side dish
He like .. dine on crackers
He got folds down below his knees
Hold him on a truck scale
You can feel his unease
Ton together .. sat down .. next to me

He morb'd obeser
He got .. doctor warning
He got .. crushing chest pain
Need de- .. -fribullator
They push one and one and one and breathe
Got to be a close call 'cause
There's no pulse to see
Ton together ... sat down ... next to me
The last stanza is a little dark, but then again, so is the OS

Grimly humorous. Just finished my annual stint at the fireworks store and I got to observe many examples of the subject of this parody. A fit and slender person is a rare and noteworthy sight. And to find one without tattoos is even more unusual. Like the lines about defibrillator and truck scale. Last week I introduced a co-worker to my take on the same subject: "Pauncho and Leftovers". I bet he'd enjoy this one, too.

By all means, show it to him. I'm always interested in the reaction of a random passer by

Thanks, Darius. I wasn't a big fan of Lennon's experimental phase, but I make an exception for this song. Great hard rocking ominous instrumentals and weird creepy lyrics ..... Give my regards to the Dayton Bros (along with Henry Coleman)
