Original Song Title:

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Cause My Guitar Makes Them Weep"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

The Lyrics

my playing appalls and there's no chance of sleeping
cause my guitar makes them weep
they look for the door and they'd love to start creeping
cause my guitar makes them weep
i don't know why
i rock 'n' rolled you
why do you hold your ears
i've got you now...the tunes enfold you
let me cajole you

i play for the world but my music they're spurning
cause my guitar makes them weep
i make some mistakes cause i'm still kinda learning
and my guitar makes them weep

i'm singing now...the words i've blurted
they were perverted, too
i'll take a bow...with fame i've flirted
have i converted you ?

i play for you all and no peace i am keeping
cause my guitar makes them weep

don't care at all
if my guitar makes them weep

Al, I just read your bio. If you were listening to Dr. D in the 70's, then you've heard me before. I used to live in LA, and I had a few songs on the show then; Mr. Hanson knows who I am. Mari and I also had "Mariwanna" on a few years ago. Agri and I have discussed this before. Oh, the song that was #39 of 1978 was "The Voyeur" by "Ricky Duncan and the Mushroom Cloud" (Me and a drummer) It's on the wall of rthe coffee house we play at here in San Jose, where we met several Amirighters. If you're ever up here, stop in.

Just reviewing some past works of writers I followed here years ago. Alvin wrote an awful lot of very good stuff. This one was well-paced and funny. Admitting to ulterior motive here: An attempt to pump some life into this site. I recommend readers go to the "Author's" list and pick out some of the folks there and checking out some of their old stuff. Maybe I'll drop be every few days and try to spotlight a writer or two that i think folks might enjoy.

I agree, If judged by the sheer number of really really good efforts, Alvin may be #1. Others will say Spaff.com, judged by the brilliance of his best work was #1 .. but he only put out one eighth the number of Alvin. Anyone who loves the beatles should look at Alvin's hundreds of Beatles parodies. ..... As for you, Paul, seeing as how you are the point man for Jethro Tull parodies, check out "Guacamole Breath" by Porfle Popnecker -- a laugh riot
