Original Song Title:

"Let It Be"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Breaded Fleas"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

When I find myself in diet trouble
Faithful Fido comes to me
Barking words of wisdom
Breaded fleas

And in my hour of hunger
Fido's standing right in front of me
Gives me what I need for
Breaded fleas

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas

Not too much bread on those
Breaded fleas

And when the carbo-loading people
Eating in the world try fleas
They will surely like those
Breaded fleas

For though they may have farted
There is still a chance that they'll eat fleas
Fried in tiny bread crumbs
Breaded fleas

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas

(yeah) Get them from your doggy
Breaded fleas

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas

Freshly-picked from Fido
Breaded fleas

( instrumental )

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
(ah) Breaded fleas
(yeah) Breaded fleas

Fido's glad you ate those
Breaded fleas

And when you bite a fried flea
It will crunch so lightly on your teeth
Chew them up and swallow
Breaded fleas

I wake up to my stomach's music
Indigestion comes to me
Ate too many of those
Breaded fleas

(yeah) Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
(yeah) Breaded fleas

(oh) Chug that Pepto-Bismol
Breaded fleas

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
(yeah) Breaded fleas

(oh) Eat more bugs tomorrow
Breaded fleas

Breaded fleas
Breaded fleas
(ah) Breaded fleas
(yeah) Breaded fleas

Now you're Fido's best friend
Breaded fleas

When I read this parody It suddenly came to me Voting voted of wisdom Five times three

Thanks for the dieting suggestion there, Johnny.

Johnny -- Bizarre but cool! If you eat the right shrooms, the breaded fleas will taste better. So will the chocolate-covered ants, but they're apparently not on your diet.
Rick D - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
I've mentioned this before. When you do the same song twice, one is going to be better when you compare. And you have "23" to compete with. That's why I don't do it. Still, you were gone a few days and I missed you.

Jack: Thank you, as always!

mac: Thanks, and the dieting suggestion is flea-of-charge!

Mari D: Thanks, and yes, I assume a well-groomed shroom would help..... hmmm, chocolate-covered ants, eh? Hmmm... ideas... there's another bizarre twisted parody idea in there somewhere..... thanks for the thought.... hmmm... munch munch munch

Rick D: Yes, I know you have mentioned it before, and you know that I have mentioned before that I like to do multiple parodies of the same tune when I have more than one idea. And I've said before, and I'll say again, that my attitude is:

So what if one is better than another?

Who cares?

Certainly not me!

I'm in this ONLY to have fun - not to create a one-of-a-kind parody for each tune I know and then leave it behind and move on - and I personally couldn't care less if one of my parodies of a song is "better" than another ...... what is "better" anyway? Somebody who didn't like "23" might like "Breaded Fleas" and vice-versa.... Who knows? Who cares? This is all just FUN !!

Rick D - Forgive me, my friend, for my ranting and raving in my previous comment! Every now and then I lose it and vent ....... Thanks for missing me, I missed you guys, too. I will continue to be active on Amiright, but not quite as active as in the past.

Rick D - oops, I forgot to say thank you for your vote - so thank you, very much, for your vote!
Rick D - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
Your venting is usually also entertaining. And how do you know when it's me voting? I can't tell. ------PS we played our song at a party Saturday. Still well recieved. Where is that call from NASA?
Adagio - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
I'm glad that I ate before reading this. Funny, and right up my alley. Where do you get such off-the-wall ideas and topics anyway? I think you also miss yakking in the comments..;) 5's ...well deserved!
Arwen - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
I'm with Adagio, Johnny...I don't know where it comes from...but it's always so creative and funny...it's all I can do to give you 5s...well done!
Johnny D - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
Rick D: Oh, I just guessed that it was you. Glad to hear folks are liking our song. I've heard nothing from NASA. Maybe they don't answer their email very often, or maybe they get all sorts of offers from average citizens like us....who knows?

Adagio: Thanks! I'm not sure where these wacky ideas come from. But I'm glad I can get them out of my head and onto the server! And yes, I do miss the comment-banter.

Arwen: And thank you, too, Your Immortal Pointy-Eared Highness! You're very kind, thanks. This parody arose from my playing around with the original song's title and trying-out various substitute words and sounds that had the same pacing as the original title and that rhymed with the original title.

Quite interesting... I'm with Rick on '23', but this is still a fully-functional 5 factory from me.

Johnny D - February 10, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks Jan - how about a dash of Flaesar Salad Dressing? Or maybe a little Chigger Chili. Or perhaps some Flyswatter Fondue?

This is part of what the makes a good writer here. Even though I didn't care for this one, the comments continued to entertain. I love the fourth one down Johnny, where you bid us fond farewell.
Johnny D - August 19, 2004 - Report this comment
Thanks, Adagio, and thanks, Rick. Yeah, the comments are really what it's all about. I feel free to open my heart and speak my mind when I write comments, and I hope my readers do, too.
