The Lyrics

As many Beatles fans know, Paul McCartney's original working title
for his classic "Yesterday" was "Scrambled Egg." What most
don't know is that he actually wrote an entire song called
"Scrambled Egg", with completely different words; he eventually
kept the melody but took it lyrically in a different direction and
that's the version everybody is familiar with. As a
life-long Beatle musicologist, however, I have spent many years
researching the original "Yesterday." I even went so far as to go
to the Apple Corps Music vaults, endearing myself to Martha, a
ferocious dog guarding the original music manuscripts in order
to gain access and perhaps find this holy grail of Beatle-dom.
Finally, my efforts (some might call it "stalking") have paid off. I
am now proud to reveal the long-lost, original words to
"Scrambled Egg." (The manuscript is currently in a secure,
undisclosed location, under the loving care of Sgt. Pepper
himself.)
Scrambled egg,
Oh my baby, how I love your leg
Give me coffee now to clear my head
And I will eat this scrambled egg

Suddenly,
I'm a sap, the band's not used to me
There's a chateau, hangings over me
A mess today, the soda's free

Why she had to go, I don't know
She couldn't stay
I said, sing this song, can't do wrong
And so I say...

Scrambled egg,
Have a drink and then I'll go to bed
This weird song is running through my head
Not poached or boiled, it's scrambled egg

Why she had to go, I don't know
She couldn't stay
I said, sing this song, can't do wrong
And so I say...

Scrambled egg,
Oh my baby, how I love your leg
Give me coffee now to clear my head
No Cheerios, just scrambled egg

Mmmmmm, Scrambled egg
I think we can all consider ourselves fortunate that Sir Paul decided to
change the lyrics!

"Oh my baby how I love your leg"--uh, is that about Heather? If so, it's very cruel--and funny!

Yep, sounds just like something Paul would write.... ;-)

Good one! Considering the artist, you are lucky to get Merry to look at this one!
