Original Song Title:

"Ticket To Ride"

Original Performer:

The Beatles

Parody Song Title:

"Latvian Bride"

Parody Written by:

Kristof Robertson

The Lyrics

When they wrote "Back In The USSR", I bet they weren't expecting this
I'm off to Riga today
I'm flying out soon
A girl called Olga has got
Me over the moon

I'll have a Latvian bride
I'll have a Latvian bri-i-ide
I'll have a Latvian bride
With lovely hair

We met over the net
Too good to be true
'Cause I'm old, ugly and fat
And she's 22

CHORUS

I know just why she's marrying me
For the visa in the passport oh yeah
She's leaving home and her family
For the visa in the passport oh yeah

I'll be meeting her dad
He's ex-KGB, yeah
Hope he'll give his consent
For matrimony, yeah

CHORUS

Don't even know where Latvia's at
Near Estonia, Lithuania I think
I bought myself a big woolly hat
Looking forward to the vodka I'll drink

I'm off to Riga today
With perfume and flowers
And I'll see Olga undressed
In a couple of hours

CHORUS

She's got lovely hair, and big underwear (rpt)

Kristof-When I look at the parodies, I look at the titles. If a title is not interesting to me, I don't read the parody. Yours caught my attention and I like the parody.

Da! Five bowls of borscht! Except, Phil, it was a John song, not a Paul song.

Kristof - I hadn't noticed any of your stuff until this morning, I've been a little caught up in some personal business lately. I really like what I've seen so far. 5's across here.
