Actually written on a bus after a long wait in the rain this morning. Well, the words were thought up on the bus, typed and printed at work. You didn't know I got paid for writing parodies, did you? (Neither does my boss.) It's fitting, since legend has it that Paul McCartney introduced George Harrison to John Lennon on the top deck of a double-decker bus in Liverpool, and George "auditioned" for the band by playing Sid Manker's guitar part from saxophonist Bill Justis' instrumental "Raunchy." I should send a shout-out to Rick Duncan, author of that other Beatle-bus parody, "I'm On the Wrong Bus."

Thanks, everyone, especially Rick Duncan for the Golden Donut. As for Merry's comment, well, most of the people on the bus were Mexicans working overnight at the hotel where I picked the bus up, heading back to their 17-to-an-apartment slums in New Brunswick, so they aren't voting in this country anyway, and they only like soccer, not sports. Well, rumor has it that there's some baseball down there, but it hasn't shown itself since Fernando Valenzuela stopped making the pitcher's mound concave. And that damn driver was not only speaking Spanish, but he was doing it ON HIS (expletive deleted) CELL PHONE! I mean, come on, will ya? People's lives are depending on this moron! Suddenly, I've got the urge to write one to "Margaritaville." But my only attempt thus far, "Prosecutaville," is a six-year-old tune about Ken Starr, and I don't want to Tong you all with something that dated.
