The Lyrics

Just voicing my frustration about low scores due to the patriotic pro-war mood of the country.
What would you do if I spoofed "W"?
Would you get mad and hand 1's to me?
I will be glad when this war's finally done
And my spoofs can score higher than 3

Oh, I'll get fives when this bitter war finally ends
Passions subside when this bitter war finally ends
Oh, won't get fried when this bitter war finally ends

Ask if I'm sad that I've not got my way
(Does it sadden you that we go and fight?)
When can I spoof and feel it's okay?
(Are you scared because we're leaning right?)

No I'll get fives when this bitter war finally ends
Passions subside when this bitter war finally ends
No, won't get fried when this bitter war finally ends

Do you see any bombings?
I need an end to this war
B-13's still a-bombing?
It's really hurting my score

(Do you believe their surrender's in sight?)
Well, I hope that they're giving up real soon
(So do you think they'll continue to fight?)
Well, they better, 'cause my spoofs get 2's

Oh, I'll get fives when this bitter war finally ends
Passions subside when this bitter war finally ends
Oh, won't get fried when this bitter war finally ends

Do you see any bombings?
I need an end to this war
B-13's still a-bombing?
It's really hurting my score

Oh, I'll get fives when this bitter war finally ends
Passions subside when this bitter war finally ends
Oh, won't get fried when this bitter war finally ends
Yes, I'll get fives when this bitter war finally ends
When this bitter war finally ends.

So do you go to anti-war protests and chant: "No War! No War! I don't want a low score!"? Just curious
John Harvey - April 02, 2003 - Report this comment
That's the joke. I don't really want the war to end just for the sake of my scores, but I think it would be funny to say that. It's a joke! Loosen up! You people take things too literally.

John, I _always_ vote your anti-war parodies fairly, even tho' I disagree with your views. This one was quite funny! You get all 5's from me! :-D

I apologize. I also was joking. I think I gave you fours, btw.
Jeff Reuben - April 02, 2003 - Report this comment
Pretty funny. And I'm sure the people Bill Tong brings to the site would vote favorably on your anti-Bush songs.

I wasn't sure if you were joking or not, but I decided to post that anyway for anyone who took this song seriously.
Al Goehring - April 02, 2003 - Report this comment
funny stuff, and it stays pretty consistent too

One, two, three, four, we don't want your damn low score! Hey, hey, John Har-vay, how many times you rip Bush today? Not enough, apparently! Keep stickin' it to 'em, 'cause they do the same to us!

Well, I was hoping that this would appeal to everyone, but it seems I'm getting the scores I've been complaining about. Eh, who cares? I'm gonna write what I want and only Chucky G can stop me (or the other big brothers of the site).

I am a conservative...but this song is hillarious! Im not sure of too many of your songs getting that low of a rating...but any way..nice work!

Hey, my pro-war parodies haven't been voted higher than three. If you bashing Dubya doesn't get you good scores, then just who is the majority on this site? Is this place AmIRight or AmILeft?

I think this is pretty cute, John. It's a good commentary on the tendency of some folks to get too emotional when their own ideas are being parodied. I see this on this site on non-political ideas as well. How many inane "HOW DARE YOU MAKE FUN OF MY FAVORITE SINGER??" comments are out there - lol? I think as a good exercise in objectivity everybody ought to pick their favorite political position, singer, TV show or brand of soda and make a parody of it! (I've already complied with "Muses of the Right" - lol!) In high school, one of my history teachers - who was otherwise useless - made us argue opposing sides of issues. I had to passionately argue in favor of slavery. What a growth experience! Expand your horizons, Amirighters (and lefters, or whatever). Get in touch with your inner cynic! Let's have a belated April-Fools joke! Innoculate yourselves against partisan brain-atrophy!! Any takers?

John, I sympathise. I don't care about your politics BTW. I don't care about anybody's. But it is noticible at present that you have to write a war parody to have some people just look at it. That is irritating. I gave you fives and not because your song asked for them. Because I liked the concept behind the parody.

Good work, John! And don't let low scores get you down. Some of my parodies with lots of votes have about fifty 1-1-1 votes.
