The Lyrics

This is the second in a series about my dad's hairline. He loved the first one, You Ain't Growin' No Hair, so I hope he gets a kick out of this as well
It was plenty years ago today
That your hair began to turn to gray
It's still growin mostly out of guile
And you hope it sticks around awhile
So maybe it is time for you
To join the club we've had for years
Salt And Peppered Lonely Hair Club Men

We're Salt And Peppered Lonely Hair Club Men
We barely still have hair to grow
We're Salt And Peppered Lonely Hair Club Men
Just watch us as our hairlines go

Salt And Peppered Lonely
Salt And Peppered Lonely
Salt And Peppered Lonely Hair Club Men

It's wonderful to have hair
We all could use some fill
'Cause most of us have lost a bunch
We'd like to grow our dome with some
We'd love to lose the chrome

Now we'd really like to see it grow
And have so much we need to mow
But our barber fee is just a song
'Cause he rarely has to work for long
He hasn't very much to do
And never needs his barber shears

Salt And Peppered Lonely Hair Club Men

Seems so obvious now that you did it. Where is the next song? With a Little Help For Split Ends?
Dee Range - August 09, 2004 - Report this comment
Rick D., thanks. The next one is I've Got Hair In Low Places, to Garth Brooks Friends In Low Places. I should have it done tonight.

I think you covered this topic brilliantly. Your dad should love this one!

alvin rhodes and MasonR, thanks for the nice comments. I called him today and warbled it for him, and he did like it, I am happy to say

Like our resident Beatles genius said, seems so obvious, and you did a great job with it, Dee. Now, how about "Alopecia" to the French traditional tune "Alouette" ?

Or, if you´re willing to be mistaken for a Arnold S supporter, you could do "Wipe out grey" to the tune of "Yesterday".

J.D.....what is Alopecia? I'm assuming it is something like Rogaine or Grecian Formula?
Johnny D - August 09, 2004 - Report this comment
Alopecia is the medical term for baldness.

J.D., thanks for the info

You're welcome, Dee ..... alopecia is a medical term both for baldness and for a medical condition that produces hair-loss which may or may not lead to total baldness.

Very nice job here, Mr. Range. 'Cause he rarely has to work for long' was me favorite line. This is an old favorite of mine, but 'What do you call it when a bunch of rabbits in a row all take a step back together?' 'A receding hare line'.

2nz, thanks

This great song is all too applicable in my case.

John Barry, thank you. It apparantly runs in my family, too, so I'm probably next in a few years

Dee - No hair-splitting from me here...5's...At 54 I still have all my hair but you could still do a parody about it...use the group "Free's" song "All Right Now" and do "All White Now"...My dad still has much of his hair at 89, although it has thinned quite a bit, but my brother's both had seriously receding hairlines by their 30's. Now my teeth...that's a HOLE different story...
