Parody Song Title:

"DHCP Server"

Parody Written by:

John Barnett

The Lyrics

The chorus came into my head when I was working on a broken DHCP server at a former employer and ended up having to move every workstation to a fixed IP as I couldn't get it working.
Hey! DHCP Server get me an IP,
I'm not sleepy and there ain't a site I'm going to.
Hey! DHCP Server I wanna surf for free,
After dialling you up I won't be bothering you,

Take me out to see a superb really wondrous site,
My senses will be gripped, my hands can't wait to click,
And I'm too alert to sleep, wait only for my IP to go net surfing.

I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for today,
Into my own bookmarks, cast your magic spell my way,
I'm ready to go on the web.

Hey! DHCP Server get me an IP,
I'm not sleepy and there ain't a site I'm going to.
Hey! DHCP Server I wanna surf for free,
After dialling you up I won't be bothering you.
Although Bob Dylan wrote the song, this is based on the shortened Byrds hit version.Copyright © 2002. John Barnett.

The Byrds didn't do the original song. That folk-rock guy (what's his name?) with Clay Aiken hair wrote it. Bob something, i think

I know that Bob Dylan wrote it, but the Byrds had the big hit with the shortened version, as I acknowledge at the bottom of the song.
