The Lyrics

I was listening to this song when the line "She also took my credit card" popped into my head, and the rest fell into place from there. DKTOS? It's on YouTube.
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I just found out my money's going down the drain
Now that my monthly bills came in

The only girl I ever loved has gone away
Lookin' for a brand new start
But little did I know that when she left that day
She also took my credit card

Rain please tell me does it seem ok
For her to steal my card and buy a Chevrolet
And then she went out and bought another one yesterday

That thievin' girl I used to trust has gone away
I re-a-lize to my chagrin
I didn't only let her take my credit card
I also let her know my PIN

Rain won't you tell her that she needs to stop
My credit score has done a belly flop
I thought she loved me but what she really loves is to shop

That lyin' little golddigger has gone away
And put my credit in arrears
But worst of all is when she headed out that day
She also took my case of beers

Oh, listen to the falling rain
I am broke and I am sober, oh no no
Listen, listen to the falling rain
I am broke and I am sober, oh no no

Just the right amount of believability and sarcasm...the two main ingredients for good humor..very well done

Good job, Rex. The moral of the story - Shred The Cards! ;D

I loved that you kinda ripped on the original song gently but enough for me to recognize the sarcasm: In the song the singer keeps telling rain (an inanimate object to tell his girlfriend to come back which is impossible because rain can't talk it can only make noise when splattering on the ground which I highly doubt will make a speaking voice) you did this in the same thing by telling this inanimate rain to tell the girl that you needs to stop using up all your money. I thought that was brilliance.

A little too much of TOS left unchanged for moi's taste -- a few more clever subs (my FICO score, etc.) and it's a sure winner -- or loser, as the "case" may be. Abstaining and hoping for a rewrite.

Thanks FG and PN! TT, we'll have to agree to disagree on your comment. I think one of the strengths of this parody is that it incorporates six lines without any modification from the original.
