The Lyrics

Having had occasional complaints about explanatory fooTnoTes, none here, other than a rhyming note. Is better this way?

Heart Systole
Contract: blood's on its way
Diastole:
New blood comes into play
Sine-ly
When rhythm's at its best:
With good blood flow, you are blessed

A-tri-a
From which flows into the -- [R]
-- Ventricles
Whoosh! PQRST
Timely
V-fibrillate? Distressed!
May you in peace, rest

How 'bout your lungs?! Inhaling, then exhaling
But(t) cigarette smoke? Em-phy-se-ma: failing: --

-- COPD!
Ask pulmonology;
POV
Of cardiology,
All 'gree:
Some exercise; foods, whole
Help save your heart, lungs, soul

[R] Rhyming note: Long "e" in "the", por favor, s'il vous plais.

Since the day after Groundhog Day falls on a Sunday this year, you know what to expect for tomorrow, 1 Feb ChuckyTime, right? ;)

The surgeon told me there was something different about my heart, one of the tubes was on the wrong side, I think. Didn't really understand what he was talking about. Maybe explains why I've always been a little weird. Good to see you sticking your head out of the shell, for a few moments anyway. I think one of the whole grain cereal companies uses this tune in their TV ads.

TT - But I still like and miss the signature footnotes! The posts today (1/31/13) are undoubtedly THE finest collection of authors and parodies that have appeared here at one time. And it wouldn't have been complete without you...or as enjoyable. ;D

I can relate to conditions mentioned... good to see you back, TT..haven't seen you since our KK mission....this is very informative in an entertaining way...

My oh myocardium! Ironically, your pacing is unbeatable... So nice to have you back in circulation!

The Surgeon General reports that reading TT's parodies is good for your health!

Patrick: Did he put it back in the right place? :) Thanks for v/c.

Old Man Ribber: If only you had been around during the Golden Years of this site .... but thanks for the kind words. As for f/n -- you just can't please everyone! ;)

AFW: Unfortunate that you can relate, but glad to see that you''re apparently doing well. Thanks for v/c.

Bro with the flow... TT's long-held secret is that he has a pacing wire.... well, which is to say, pacing is "wired" into him. :) LOL @ "circulation", and glad you liked this vein of humor!

Sis Tollick: (lol) So why are so few obeying the SG's advice? ;) ... maybe if it were printed on cartons of cigarettes and bottles of booze. ;-D (thanks for v/c)

My turn to put your most used initial comment – DKTOS.
Was going to add a joke about fags being bad for the health but I presume that a lot of Americans on the site would just think I’m being homophobic.
I don’t see why anybody should have a problem with the notes – they don’t have to read them if they don’t want to.

DKTOS, but appears to be some very technical and cool stuff flowing through this. Also liked the educated curculatory system lesson. And I've come to appreciate your in-depth end comments TT. Not sure why that was too much for some others.

Andy Primus: TOS is from 1938. Covered about 50 times or more since then. I credit the Cleftones for doing it in our Boomer era, at #18 on the charts. Also used in a commercial for the iPad mini-phone. (Sounds like a feminine hygiene product. ;)
Your comment on notes is what TT has always said, but some folks seem to feel that they're condescending. Well, not to the people who DK the reference or info or whatever. Thanks for v/c.

Glen S: See above to Andy P re: DKTOS and footnotes. Glad you found the didactic to be entertaining as well. Thanks for v/c.

Unabomber: Could you please point out the pacing errors that dropped this to a 1? "Funny" is a matter of taste, but for some reason, anonymous cowards never say why the song got a 1 on pacing. Looking forward to learning from my mistakes, thanks.

Not only symbolically anatomical but anatomically symbolic. Not only physiologically literal but literally physiological. Not only organically poetic but ... oh shut up! Aorta give you a purple heart for bravura - The Auricle hath spoken. Unlike my poor late mother, you will never need an artificial pacemaker. But being terminolgically challenged, medically, I didn't quite get all of it, but I got the sense of a master at work.

Lifeliver: Thanks for ventriculating your heartfelt thoughts, and with so much artery.

Regarding your final sentence, please see the song's intro. There was some private discussion beforehand (with someone who shall remain nameless) as to whether readers would be willing to look up unfamiliar terms, or would rather have them explained in footnotes, vs. those who have in fact complained about explanatory f/n. So this was kind of an experiment. Results, like many medical tests, were inconclusive. :)
