The Lyrics

Some people might quibble re the pacing but it fit for me ;) Happy New Year to All x
Doesn't Xmas make you scream?
It's a day of consumerist "joy"
What's it cost for this hyped dream?
Steamin' about for lots of new "toys"?

If you've no cash, take a credit ride
With lots of interest added too besides
It blows you away to give all others fun
You're up to your eyes in debt before the dawn

I'm just here lettin' off steam
I bin steamin' since last Jan-u-ary
It scars me right through the neat spring
It set's the tone to making me wary

It's not meant to be about what you got
It's been taken over by a consumerist plot
I'm gonna blow a fuse and break the code
Next year I'll try it in a different mode

But then I'm sure it'll come like blight
My Yuletide scream gone outasight
Tomorrow I'll pay again despite the fears
Don't want my loved ones left in tears

Doesn't Xmas make you scream?
It's a day of consumerist "joy"
What's it cost for this hyped dream?
Steamin' about for lots of new "toys"?

Christmas comes once a year. This is a good thing. We should ho-ho-hold them to that!

I can't remember who does it (perhaps Michael knows) but someone every year figures out the cost of all the items in the "12 days of Christmas" song. Last I heard it was like 67,000$ to get everything. Happy New Year LLLB. And congrats on the editing job.

I agree with Michael that Christmas comes but once a year. But, the sneaky thing is, they are trying to make it all year. Still once but longer. Great parody, I see myself in there, well there is always next year to look forward to. Maybe I will be a little more frugal. Yeah I bet.

Love to wake up to a smile! The meaning if christmas was lost through the centuries and now the rights to it have been sold out to Dixons and curries etc!

Loved it, of course! This year ( for the first time, blushes in shame ) I realised that the Wizard song, wish it could be Christmas every day ..... begins with the sound of a cash register. Cynicism is alive and well ! Good one leebee, keep it up. xxxxx
