The Lyrics

I recently turned 50, and so I thought up this idea for a parody. For those of you who are 50 or older, you most likely know about AARP and how they badger you to join up. This song is all about that.
"Take the fast train to AARPville
and Join our administration!"
The techniques we use are dirty
and a constant irritation
Oh no no, please go go go, I just said no

Cause when I come home in the evening
And check my email again
I find 15 more AARP emails
And it's driving my insane
and I told them no, Oh no no no, they just won't go

But they won't accept my answer if it's NO....

Skip the fast train to AARPville
Cause they say no obligation
But they'll send a lot more spam and junk mail
And a lot more aggravation
No, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no!

They harassed me at AARPville
Cause they just called on the phone
But I can't talk now. I'm at the office
So just leave me alone
A la la lone, hang up the phone, leave me alone!

But they won't because my answer still is NO!

"Take the fast train to AARPville
and Join our administration!"
The techniques we use are dirty
and a constant irritation
Oh no no, please go go go, I just said no

But they won't accept my answer if it's NO....

Skip the rat race for AARPville

They harass me at AARPville

Skip the rat race for AARPville

They harass me at AARPville

The AARP commercial shows a woman at work who has spent all morning on the AARP web site.

AARP sounds like a belch... mature, I know... 5s

It was mature of you, Jonathan, to realize that retired people probably belch more than everyone else; what with digestive difficulties and all .... @ Tha Perfesser -- good choice of song. Monkees were sort of a novelty act but "Last Train" was a legitimately great pop song; Top 500 all time, IMHO

Nicely done, and I certainly remember being badgered around my #50 (68 now). But however irritating the constant come-ons may be AARP actually does a lot of good things. It's possible you may eventually see them in a somewhat more favorable light as you age a bit further. Oh, yeah...5's.
