The Lyrics

If you haven't seen the movie "Leaving Las Vegas", here is a short rundown. Guy gets fired from job for drinking, guy sells all his shit to drink himself to death, meets a caring prostitute, ends up succeeding. There, I just saved you 2 hours of your life and 99cents for the video rental. In exchange, you have to suffer through this parody of a song I really do love for 2 minutes. ( Justin Hayward can still hit those high notes even at almost 60! I wish I had that kind of range)
Nights in cheap motels
Now I have reached my end
'Cause I was fired
Return I don't intend

Liquor I always did
Will I need some more?
All that I know is
Wound up with a whore

'cause I hate life
Yes, I hate life
Oh, how I hate life

Buying some liquor
Bottles in hand
No matter what they tell-me
They can't change this man

She tried to help me
Try to be my best friend
Said "If you keep drinking
you will die in the end"

And I hate me
Yes, I hate me
Oh, how I hate me
Oh, how I hate me

(intro best flute solo ever)

Nights in cheap hotels
Now I have reached my end
'cause I was fired
Return I dont intend

Liquor I've always did
Went to store today
I paid five-hundred
Stayed month not a day

'cause I am screwed
Yes, I'm so screwed
Oh, how I'm so screwed
Oh, now I'm so screwed

'cause I am dead
Yes, I am dead
Oh, how I am dead
Oh, now I can rest

Well done! Too bad they don't have a vote value for "Effective" since this is tragic more than funny. But I liked it anyway.

What about the closing monologue? Had to dock you a point for not doing it. Otherwise, pretty good.

Thanks Michael, appreciate your honesty, but most of the time when I hear this on the radio they dont play that part. I think it may even be listed on the original album cover as a two part/split song, but I'm not sure about it. Also thanks Bob, I too wish they had more than three votes as well, specifically like truth, sarcasm, witty, scary, etc.

I have seen the film. It is really sad, and again it provoked thoughts. It's bugging me the category is "How funny" and not instead "How witty".

I don't know how I missed this one....MB is my favorite group and you did a good job on it. 5's

Thank you all for the comments and votes. I see witty vs funny, but they can be the same at the same time. Case in point, when a dumbass makes you laugh, you're laughing AT him. When someone witty makes you laugh, you're laughing WITH him.

Adagio, if you like this just wait till Monday or so...I made another version of this song that kicks this parodies ass the the curb in the funny category by a mile.
